Comedian Mija shared a heartwarming story about Park Na-rae.

On the 18th, KBS2’s ‘Park Won-sook’s Living Together’ featured Jeon Seong-ae and Mija visiting Park Won-sook, Hye-eun, Hong Jin-hee, and Yoon Da-hoon.

On that day, Mija revealed, “I faced a big crisis at 30. I fell into depression. I worked hard without sleeping to get into the school I wanted. I did my best in comedy, but it didn’t work out. At 30, when the comedy program ended, I was left all alone. I realized that I hadn’t achieved anything in my life.”

She continued, “I had big ambitions since I was young, and my goals were high. A friend said, ‘I have no regrets in my 20s.’ But looking at that friend, I thought, ‘Why waste life like that without preparing for the future?’ So I studied so hard that I almost lost all my hair. When my friend said, ‘My 20s were so happy that I wouldn’t trade them for anything,’ it felt like a blow to the head. I lived my life painfully and fiercely, but I ended up with nothing. That’s why depression hit me hard.”

Jeon Seong-ae recalled that Mija suffered from severe depression for three years, saying, “It was maddening. She would scream every day and talk about wanting to die. We were going through a tough time at home, so it was a very difficult period.”

Mija said, “I had no recognition and no work. When I was told I had to perform, I said, ‘I want to quit.’ I received a contract fee of 2 million won, but they told me I had to pay several times that as a penalty. So I ended up doing it. I came out into the world.”

She added, “I was so scared of people. It took about 10 years to return to normal. I almost returned to normal as I approached my 40s.”

Mija expressed her gratitude, stating that during her difficult times, Park Na-rae continuously reached out to her. Mija said, “When I was doing theater, she kept calling me, inviting me to her house, and cooking delicious food for me. I think I practiced meeting people a lot during that time.”

When Jeon Seong-ae said, “Park Na-rae is a benefactor. She is a very grateful friend,” Mija praised, “Park Na-rae never passes by someone in need.”
