Mija, a former comedian turned YouTuber, recalled her difficult memories of suffering from severe depression in the past.
On the 16th, a video titled 'Mija's tumultuous life from three years of depression to becoming a mukbang goddess' was posted on the YouTube channel 'A-Class Jang Young-ran'.
In the video, Mija began by saying, "I was the oldest new recruit in MBC's public recruitment for comedians."
She stated, "It wasn't a place for me. The military discipline was too strong, and I couldn't endure it. Almost half of the people quit, and I was the last to leave," adding, "That's when depression hit me."
She mentioned, "I really lived hard," saying, "I was in the top 1-2 in college, receiving scholarships, while my friends were partying, dating, and drinking in their 20s, I was preparing to be an announcer with seven study groups, living like crazy."
Additionally, she revealed, "When I turned thirty, my friends were getting jobs, getting married, and being happy, but I had nothing left. I had no friends. I didn't go outside for three years during that time."
When Jang Young-ran asked, "What were you thinking during those three years?" Mija replied, "I only thought about dying," shedding tears.
Previously, in 2022, Mija also confessed to being a victim of bullying on the Channel A entertainment program 'Oh Eun-young's Counseling Center', evoking sympathy.
