Singer Byeol has contracted shingles.
On the 2nd, Byeol posted on her Instagram account, "Was it ten days ago? I didn't know back then. The disaster that was about to come. I was so excited while getting ready at the shop to attend a colleague's wedding, taking pictures while pretending to be pretty," along with a photo.
Byeol continued, "I noticed something strange about my lips and a couple of blisters on my eyelids from the morning. After returning home from the wedding and cleansing, the blisters had noticeably grown," adding, "It spread to my forehead and temples. It even reached my scalp. And it started to sting and hurt a lot."
She went on, "I went to the hospital the next day, and they said it was shingles. It was my first time experiencing it. The terrifying thing I had only heard about. I didn't know it could appear on the face. But they said it could be very dangerous, so I immediately received outpatient treatment at a university hospital, including consultations with ophthalmology and dermatology, and I spent the whole last week recuperating at home."
She added, "Thanks to eating well and resting, the facial blisters have noticeably improved, but the neuralgia on my face remains, so I still need to take medication to sleep well at night. It varies from person to person, but they say the pain usually lasts a while. For me, it hurt even in my tooth, ear canal, and nostrils."
Byeol expressed, "It was difficult to provide detailed explanations while canceling scheduled events and appointments. I want to ask for your understanding once again. Since it's an illness that requires rest to heal, I'm trying to rest as much as possible, so I hope you can understand a little more going forward."
Byeol married broadcaster Haha in 2012 and has two sons and one daughter.
