Director Byun Sung-hyun shared his thoughts on working with Seol Kyung-gu in 'Good News'.

On the 19th, an open talk for the invited film 'Good News' was held at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan, as part of the 30th Busan International Film Festival. Director Byun Sung-hyun and actors Seol Kyung-gu and Hong Kyung attended.

'Good News' depicts the suspicious operation of a group of people who gather to land a hijacked plane by any means necessary in the 1970s. Notably, this is the fourth collaboration between director Byun Sung-hyun and actor Seol Kyung-gu.

Director Byun Sung-hyun stated, "I felt a tremendous burden. This is our fourth project, and I thought about how to express Seol Kyung-gu. We discussed whether to work on this project together."

He continued, "They say actors have a thousand faces, but I absolutely do not believe in such embellishments. I used three cards for the actor Seol Kyung-gu, and I wondered what card to use for the fourth. Instead of using a new face, I suggested that we find Seol Kyung-gu's old self and create a character that acts that way."

Additionally, director Byun Sung-hyun mentioned, "It was a character from Lee Chang-dong's 'Oasis'. That character was sincere, right? This time, I found a way to act falsely. We agreed to part ways for the next project."

The 30th Busan Film Festival will meet audiences with a total of 328 films from 64 countries, including 87 films in the Community BIFF section and 32 films in the Neighborhood BIFF section. It will be held until the 26th around the Busan Cinema Center.
