Actor Kwon Sang-woo revealed that he underwent surgery for a liver hemangioma.
On the 20th, Kwon Sang-woo, Lee Yi-kyung, and Hwang Woo-seul-hye, the main cast of the movie ‘Hitman 2’, appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong-yeob’.
On that day, Lee Yi-kyung asked while taking a hangover remedy, “Is Shin Dong-yeob hyung someone who doesn’t get hangovers?” Shin Dong-yeob replied, “I tend to not get hangovers much.”
Kwon Sang-woo said, “When I couldn’t drink, I would throw up completely. But after I started to like drinking, I stopped throwing up.” He continued, “I’m confessing this for the first time today, but the reason ‘Hitman 2’ is divided into before and after is that I have a hemangioma in my liver, which I found out during my annual health check-up.”
Kwon Sang-woo shared, “The doctor said, ‘If it grows larger than 10cm, we need to perform open surgery, so if your schedule allows, remove it when it reaches 6cm.’ But since my family is all in the U.S., I thought it was no big deal and underwent the surgery alone,” drawing attention.
He added, “I had the surgery before filming ‘Hitman 2’. They showed me a picture where they removed a piece of my liver the size of a palm. The doctor said, ‘Kwon Sang-woo, your liver is quite large. Even after removing 30%, it’s still the size of an average person’s liver.’ I was in the hospital for quite a while, and since my family was abroad, I felt very lonely being there alone.”
When Kwon Sang-woo said, “The first thing I filmed after recovering was ‘Hitman 2’,” Lee Yi-kyung admired Kwon Sang-woo’s passion, saying, “You must have been fatigued, but you put in the same amount of energy.”
