The girl group Ailet, along with their agency HYBE and subsidiary label Belift Lab, is launching a formal lawsuit against the YouTube channel FastView, which has been accused of producing and distributing malicious defamatory videos.

According to reports from Maeil Business Newspaper's Star Today on the 20th, the Seoul Western District Court has scheduled the first hearing for the damages claim lawsuit filed by HYBE, Belift Lab, and Ailet against FastView for October 24th.

This case was originally set to be decided without a hearing in June, but FastView appointed a lawyer and submitted a response, leading to the cancellation of the default judgment.

HYBE has filed a damages lawsuit amounting to 280 million won against a total of seven YouTube channels, claiming that the 'Cyber Lecker' channels have been continuously spreading false information. Among these, the channels operated by FastView are known to be 'People Box' and 'Da Issue.'

These channels posted videos claiming that "Ailet copied specific concepts and choreography from New Jeans," "a member mentioned a specific food while defaming another artist," and "HYBE and its artists are associated with a specific religion."

To identify the channel operators, HYBE applied for discovery against Google in the Northern District Court of California, which confirmed that FastView is the actual operator of the two channels.

Founded in 2015, FastView is a content production and distribution platform company, and was selected as a finalist in the '2024 Baby Unicorn Plus' support project organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups last year.

FastView stated regarding the spread of rumors related to HYBE's artists, "There was no intention to defame at all," and added, "We have been cooperating sincerely with the investigation and will clarify our position once the results are out."
