‘Days of Travel’ has achieved the remarkable feat of being invited to the international competition section of the 78th Locarno Film Festival, which will be held from August 6 (Wednesday).
‘Days of Travel’ is the latest work by director Sho Miyake, who has been gaining significant attention not only in Japan but also at film festivals worldwide, having been invited to the Berlin International Film Festival three consecutive times with films such as ‘Your Bird Can Sing’, ‘If You Look Into Your Eyes’, and ‘All of Dawn’.

Above all, the Locarno Film Festival selection committee praised ‘Days of Travel’, stating, “This film showcases the highest level of Japanese cinema. It is philosophical yet not pretentious, dreamy yet firmly grounded in reality. It quietly contemplates what life is, why we choose certain paths, and how encounters become a part of our existence.
The film delicately portrays the essence of humanity in profound ways,” indicating that the results will be closely watched.
Regarding the entry into the international competition at the Locarno Film Festival, director Sho Miyake expressed, “The Locarno Film Festival was the first international film festival I participated in. Just recalling the atmosphere there, filled with sincere respect for the film itself, makes my heart solemn even now.” He added, “After more than ten years, I am delighted and honored to return with ‘Days of Travel’. I am most proud of the diligent work that the actors and staff have built up season by season.”

Shim Eun-kyung also shared, “It is truly an honor to be part of director Sho Miyake's beautiful world. The thought of presenting this work on the precious stage of the Locarno Film Festival already makes my heart flutter. I hope everyone can join us on the first journey that ‘Days of Travel’ begins.”
