Comedian Jo Hye-ryun became emotional while recalling a letter from her son Woo-joo.

On the 9th, MBC’s ‘Brother, what are you doing?’ featured Ha Ha, Joo Woo-jae, and Lee Yi-kyung continuing their trip in Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

That day, Ha Ha, Joo Woo-jae, and Lee Yi-kyung visited a cafe after their meal. At that moment, Jo Hye-ryun and Heo Kyung-hwan made a surprise appearance. Jo Hye-ryun immediately threw a direct question, “Are you doing this without Yoo Jae-suk?” which made everyone laugh.

On the way to a sheep ranch, when the topic of her son Woo-joo came up, Jo Hye-ryun said, “Actually, Woo-joo is going to the U.S. today. He’s not going to study abroad, but he will be training while learning the Bible for about six months. After that, he will go to Sydney for work.”

Jo Hye-ryun continued, “Woo-joo wrote a long letter. He has grown up and wrote me a very long letter,” and tears streamed down her face.

She added, “In the letter, he wrote, ‘To my mom who loves me so much but doesn’t express it well.’ He said, ‘I really respect you, mom. Seeing you work so hard even when your voice is hoarse and your body is tired, I thought I should work hard too.’ He used to call (my husband) ‘uncle,’ but he wrote ‘loving dad’.”

In response, Lee Yi-kyung suggested a call with Woo-joo. Jo Hye-ryun told Woo-joo, “I felt your sincerity in the letter. I’m sorry I couldn’t express it warmly. I am truly happy to have given birth to you and I love you.”

Hearing this, Ha Ha and Lee Yi-kyung became teary-eyed. Joo Woo-jae admired, “It was a sight you could only see in a fantasy.”

Ha Ha shared, “I talked to my wife in the morning, and she was upset. We had decided not to scold the kids the night before, but she scolded them again in the morning. Doesn’t she know how much she feels inadequate and small? She cried in the morning because she was upset.”

Jo Hye-ryun encouraged, “It felt like a very long tunnel. It seemed endless, but it ends when they turn 20. When they become adults and think for themselves, and when they are embraced with love, that’s when the child grows well.”
