Broadcasters Jo Hye-ryun and Lee Kyung-sil openly shared their thoughts on the subtle emotions in male-female relationships.
In the episode released on the 9th on YouTube's 'New Woman', a story was shared about a person wondering if they could reconnect with an ex-girlfriend who, despite everything fitting well, habitually sought out other partners. In response, Lee Kyung-sil said, "Does a dog stop pooping? People are not meant to be reused. It will happen again." She continued, "Recently, I told my daughter-in-law, 'If there’s even one thing you like, hold onto that. Breaking up is something you do when you have nothing to lean on. Don’t think there’s someone better out there; find the good in each other and live by that.'
When asked if friendship is possible between men and women, both Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun answered simultaneously, "Yes." Jo Hye-ryun confidently stated, "Kim Gu-ra and Park Myung-soo are my male friends. It is possible to have friends of the opposite sex." However, she drew the line by saying, "I don’t go out to nice places to eat alone with my male friends. In fact, they don’t ask me to go." She humorously added details like, "It's okay to have poke, but not to eat pajeon alone together. However, if we have makgeolli and pa-kimchi, that’s fine."
Jo Hye-ryun's story began with a woman's account shared on 'New Woman'. The woman revealed that her boyfriend confides everything to a female friend he has known for over ten years, even advising him to break up with his current girlfriend. Notably, this female friend had previously confessed her feelings to him.
In response, Lee Kyung-sil remarked, "The female friend still likes that man and is just being mean," adding, "She might dislike that there’s another woman next to the man she likes. The man thinks they are just friends. Men can be foolish too. The woman should step back from their relationship and just let them date." She added, "Let’s see how well they do."
On that day’s 'New Woman', Jo Hye-ryun and Lee Kyung-sil candidly discussed not only habitual cheating partners and the possibility of friendships between the sexes but also workplace relationships often referred to as 'office couples', as well as emotional and physical infidelity, addressing the subtle conflicts that can arise in male-female relationships.
'New Woman' is a podcast-style YouTube content featuring Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun. Comedian Lee Sun-min also participates as an MC, representing the perspectives of the younger generation. Their candid and unfiltered discussions have garnered attention even among the 2030 generation.
