1. Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube, who visited Tongyeong, provided a culinary experience by properly enjoying the '3 flavors' with actor Lee Byung-jun.
In the episode aired on the 15th, MBN·Channel S's real street food documentary 'Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2' featured Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) embarking on a food trip to explore the 'real' restaurants in Tongyeong, known as the 'Naples of the East', along with their 'eating friend' Lee Byung-jun. They visited the original restaurant of Chungmu Gimbap, highly recommended by locals, as well as special garlic gopchang and the representative food culture of Tongyeong, 'daji', bringing laughter and healing to viewers.
On that day, Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube chose Tongyeong's soul food 'Chungmu Gimbap' for their first meal and went out for a 'street interview'. They then headed to the original Chungmu Gimbap restaurant, which received overwhelming 'picks' from locals, and showcased a storm of eating while expressing admiration with comments like, “The squid is really substantial!” and “The pickled radish is number one.”
After clearing their first meal in Tongyeong, Jeon Hyun-moo introduced Lee Byung-jun, saying, “Today's 'eating friend' has been a great scene-stealer and has sung with me.”
Lee Byung-jun proudly displayed their close friendship, saying, “I was close to Jeon Hyun-moo for six months while we were on a music show together,” and expressed his anticipation by asking, “What kind of food did you call me to Tongyeong for?” However, when Jeon Hyun-moo revealed, “Today's menu is beef gopchang!”, Lee Byung-jun couldn't hide his disappointment, saying, “I had it yesterday…”
A little later, upon arriving at the gopchang restaurant, the three of them grilled gopchang seasoned with garlic on stones instead of charcoal. After tasting grilled daechang and gopchang jeongol filled with various greens, they praised, “There’s no unpleasant smell at all, and it’s a taste that MZ generation would love. It’s charming.”
After the eating segment, Lee Byung-jun said, “I have a gift,” and subtly took out his recently released trot album. He explained, “(This album contains) a story about my first love that I fell in love with at first sight.” Jeon Hyun-moo asked, “Is it about your sister-in-law?” to which Lee Byung-jun honestly replied, “No.” Jeon Hyun-moo joked, “Isn’t this why you can’t go home?” causing everyone to burst into laughter.
After showing their 'true friends' banter, when Lee Byung-jun left, Kwak Tube asked, “How do we wrap up our time in Tongyeong?” Jeon Hyun-moo declared, “What should we do? Should we have bbaetugi-juk? No. Let’s finish with the representative food culture of 'daji'.”
They then headed to the famous 'Daji Alley' in Tongyeong to find carefully selected restaurants. There, the two enjoyed a romantic experience starting with abalone porridge, followed by marinated anchovy salad, semi-dried grilled fish, various sashimi and seafood, steamed scallops, and spicy fish stew, all served in endless 'daji'.
In particular, regarding the 'semi-dried grilled fish', Jeon Hyun-moo said, “Dong-yeop is my 'eating master'. He said, 'Seafood is best when semi-dried,' and it really is the best,” showing his respect. However, when Kwak Tube tasted the sashimi and exclaimed, “Wow, but the thickness of the sashimi is amazing,” Jeon Hyun-moo immediately corrected him, saying, “Then Dong-yeop is wrong,” causing everyone to laugh.
Meanwhile, Jeon Hyun-moo appeared to shrink in front of the wriggling raw shrimp sashimi. He shuddered, saying, “I saw the eyeballs moving. Ah.. stress,” while Kwak Tube joked, “After eating raw shrimp sashimi, it’s jumping in my mouth,” showcasing their hilarious chemistry.
During their enjoyable eating segment, the two paired their food with beer and had an open-hearted 'marriage talk'. Jeon Hyun-moo said, “I think I need to make a decision within five years,” and then created headlines for articles himself, saying, “Jeon Hyun-moo, declares he will remain single for five years!”, “Hosting 'My Little Old Boy' for 20 years!” while feeling bittersweet.
Then, Jeon Hyun-moo opened up, saying, “I can’t help it. Still, I don’t want to get married forcefully.” Kwak Tube said, “I originally wanted to get married quickly,” and Jeon Hyun-moo advised, “If you don’t get married quickly, you’ll end up like me. You need to get married around 35-36 to stabilize your life.” Kwak Tube responded, “I understand. I will get married within three years. Please host my wedding,” and Jeon Hyun-moo gladly accepted.
As the food trip enjoying Tongyeong's 'three flavors' came to an end with the warm friendship of the 'eating brothers', the one-day food trip of Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube to Daebudo, the 'island of youth and romance', can be seen in 'Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2', airing on the 22nd at 9:10 PM.
