Choi Jin-hyuk and Yoon Hyun-min's families went on a trip together.
On the afternoon of the 20th, in the SBS variety show ‘My Ugly Duckling’ (hereafter ‘My Ugly Duckling’), Yoon Hyun-min and Choi Jin-hyuk's mother-son duo went on a double trip.
In this episode, Choi Jin-hyuk's mother immediately praised Yoon Hyun-min, wishing that her son had been switched with him.
While eating the bread prepared by Yoon Hyun-min, Choi Jin-hyuk's mother became completely enamored with him. Seeing this, Choi Jin-hyuk remarked, “Are you trying to start a bread business? Didn’t you fail with your lunchbox business?” bringing up something Hyun-min's mother was unaware of, which startled Hyun-min, who retorted, “What?” with a glare.
When Hyun-min said, “Bagels are really hot these days! It’s one of the items I’m considering,” Hyun-min's mother sighed, “Oh dear... don’t waste your time and money on useless things and end up with nothing,” expressing her concern. Jin-hyuk's mother also scolded, “Doing that will affect your main job. Business isn’t something anyone can do.”
In response, Hyun-min retaliated, “You know Jin-hyuk pays for everything when he meets his friends, right?” To which Jin-hyuk's mother replied, “I don’t stop him in that regard. If he can afford it, it’s fine to pay first. But the problem is when he carelessly spends money.”
After their banter, the four arrived at Pocheon and enjoyed the view from the observatory. However, upon seeing the swaying bridge in front of him, Choi Jin-hyuk worriedly said, “They say people with acrophobia shouldn’t go up there, right? Does it sway a lot? I have a serious fear of heights.” To this, Jin-hyuk's mother urged, “You’re as big as a cow... hurry up and go!”
Hyun-min's mother exclaimed, “Oh, I feel nauseous,” closing her eyes tightly as she walked carefully. Even while Jin-hyuk held his mother's hand to escort her, Hyun-min refused to hold hands, saying, “I have a lot of germs on my hands.”
After a series of ups and downs, the two families arrived at the observatory, took photos, and headed to the flower festival location. However, the day they visited was a holiday. Yoon Hyun-min's mother expressed her disappointment, saying, “I was looking forward to going to a flower field for the first time in my life.”
The second segment of ‘My Ugly Duckling’ featured model Bae Jung-nam, who was assigned to Paris Fashion Week, along with Lee Sang-min. The two visited a famous bakery early in the morning and enjoyed a Parisian-style brunch while chatting.
Bae Jung-nam, who is walking the Paris fashion show for the first time in his 23 years of modeling, said, “I’m stepping onto the stage at the age of forty. The average age of foreign models is half my age. There are even models younger than my son. Foreign kids are incredibly tall. I’m nervous even before the rehearsal. I just have to die,” showing his anxiety.
Lee Sang-min remarked, “You’re married now... we set this schedule in January. That was before you met your wife. And today is my birthday!” surprising Bae Jung-nam.
He continued, “This morning, I received a text from my wife. ‘Happy birthday, my love! It’s your first birthday since we got married, and I’m sorry I couldn’t make you seaweed soup. Make sure to eat well and have a happy day. I love you and miss you. Call me when you wake up, beep beep,’” he boasted.
When he revealed a text he received from his mother-in-law, Bae Jung-nam said, “You’re loved by your family. I need to find someone quickly too,” expressing his envy.
Later, Bae Jung-nam mentioned that he exercises every morning and met up with Lee Sang-min again after jogging with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop. The two enjoyed shopping at the Bastille Market, the largest traditional market in Paris.
Meeting with the brand representative, Bae Jung-nam tried on outfits for the fashion show and practiced walking. However, the representative pointed out, “Please keep your expression natural and walk in an avant-garde manner. Your expression seems a bit stiff. It would be better to lower your chin slightly.”
Bae Jung-nam attempted a second walk but received consecutive failures when the representative asked him to walk a bit faster. He then tried on an outfit that exposed his upper body before walking again. However, the representative shook his head, saying, “It seems like you’re lacking in exercise.”
After the fitting, Bae Jung-nam celebrated Lee Sang-min's birthday at a laundromat pub, providing a touching moment.
