In ‘Pyeon Restaurant’, Gi Eun-se and her biological brother take on an epic home party cooking challenge.
On the 13th, KBS2’s ‘New Menu Launch Pyeon Restaurant’ (hereafter ‘Pyeon Restaurant’) will reveal Gi Eun-se’s brother, who is two years older. The affectionate siblings, who care for each other deeply, will prepare a special family meal that day. To this end, Michelin-starred Gi Eun-se will showcase two simple yet elegant seafood dishes.
In the VCR that is revealed, a stranger appears in Gi Eun-se’s home in the morning, surprising everyone. This man turns out to be her two-year-older brother. Although he is gruff, Gi Eun-se’s brother shows his tsundere side by silently doing everything his sister asks.
What caught the most attention was her brother’s amazing cooking skills. Gi Eun-se’s brother excels in all genres of cooking, whether it be Korean, Chinese, or Western, making him a culinary talent on par with his sister. Gi Eun-se remarked, “My brother is also very good at cooking. I once mentioned that it would be nice if he opened a restaurant,” adding, “He does everything well, but his specialty is barbecue. He is a barbecue master,” which piqued curiosity.
Gi Eun-se’s brother prepared barbecue, which his sister loves. Until now, Gi Eun-se had only enjoyed the barbecue her brother made, but on this day, she made barbecue with him for the first time. Her brother prepared 3 kg of pork shoulder, making pulled pork, which is considered the essence of American barbecue. The pulled pork, which can be easily shredded with just a touch, is a high-difficulty dish that requires over 10 hours of effort.
Seasoning, smoking, controlling the fire, maintaining moisture, checking the temperature, etc. Gi Eun-se was astonished, saying, “I didn’t know it required so much effort,” as the pulled pork took more than 10 hours to prepare. However, the finished pulled pork boasted an incredible visual, and when Gi Eun-se tasted it, she gave a thumbs up in admiration.
