Singer-songwriter Yoon Ddan Ddan (real name Yoon Jong Hoon, 34) has acknowledged domestic violence and infidelity towards his ex-wife Eun Jong (real name Son Eun Jong, 30).
On the 14th, Yoon Ddan Ddan posted a lengthy message on social media, saying, “First of all, I sincerely apologize to the many fans and people around me who have been disappointed by me due to this incident.” Previously, on the 12th, Eun Jong announced their separation, claiming Yoon Ddan Ddan's infidelity and domestic violence.
Yoon Ddan Ddan stated, “Whenever we disagreed, our arguments escalated to extremes, leading to verbal and physical abuse from my wife. During those times, I tried to leave the situation or intervene, but she would always follow me until her anger subsided, resulting in continued verbal and physical abuse. I acknowledge that I used force during the ongoing verbal and physical abuse. I deeply reflect on my actions, which I should not have done as a man and as a husband.”
Yoon Ddan Ddan expressed, “Contrary to how it appeared, our married life was not normal,” adding, “After marriage, I had to bear many expenses in a household and company that solely relied on Yoon Ddan Ddan's income, which was quite burdensome. My wife always claimed that the personal living expenses of over 5 million won a month, including my salary, were insufficient.”
He mentioned, “I was mentally and financially exhausted by my wife,” and admitted, “I deeply regret having communicated with another person out of my tiredness. I sincerely apologize to my wife, who must have been deeply hurt by my actions.”
However, he also stated, “I no longer had the confidence to maintain our marriage, and my wife continued to demand more apologies. When she said, ‘If you give me the music revenue, I will divorce you,’ I ended up giving away all my cash, half of all music rights, my car, and custody of our dog, Dangi. Recently, she has demanded an additional 20 million won, but I have no more money to give, and I feel sorry about that.”
In conclusion, Yoon Ddan Ddan said, “People say that one doesn’t change, but I have actually changed a lot in my personality over the years. I have lived to become a better person than I was yesterday, and that desire remains. I promise to never repeat the same mistakes again,” adding, “Once again, I sincerely apologize to all those who have been greatly disappointed by this news.”
Yoon Ddan Ddan and Eun Jong tied the knot in March 2019 after five years of dating, but they faced separation after six years of marriage. Previously, Eun Jong announced their divorce, stating, “Due to unresolved infidelity and the violence that occurred during emotional conflicts afterward, our relationship has become irreparable, leading to a lawsuit and separation.”
Yoon Ddan Ddan debuted as a singer-songwriter in 2014 with the digital single ‘Ban O Ship.’ He has participated in numerous drama OSTs, including tvN’s ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,’ SBS’s ‘The World of the Married,’ and JTBC’s ‘The Package.’ Eun Jong also debuted as a singer-songwriter by singing the OST ‘You are my love’ for the tvN drama ‘My Name is Kim Sam-soon Season 13.’
