Recently, announcers Kim Dae-ho and Kang Ji-young, who declared themselves freelancers, will make their joint entry into KBS through ‘Problematic Men in the Rooftop Room’.
In the KBS2 broadcast of ‘Problematic Men in the Rooftop Room’ on the 15th, former JTBC anchor Kang Ji-young and former MBC anchor Kim Dae-ho will appear and share behind-the-scenes stories about their freelance declaration, as well as episodes from their time as announcers that have never been revealed before.
Kang Ji-young, who resigned from JTBC after 14 years, visited the rooftop room just 10 days after her resignation, marking her first appearance in a KBS entertainment program. Kang Ji-young will share her vivid resignation experience and reveal the reasons for her departure, saying, “Today, my severance pay was settled.”
With her first entry into KBS, Kang Ji-young expressed her ambition to “greet KBS often,” to which her freelance senior Kim Dae-ho advised, “Don’t rush, take it slow,” but he himself continuously showcased his ambition for entertainment by making remarks.
Kang Ji-young revealed, “When Kim Dae-ho resigned, he left me a congratulatory message,” but added, “When I resigned, I didn’t receive any contact from him,” igniting speculation about Kim Dae-ho's competitive stance in entertainment. In response, Kim Dae-ho confessed, “I couldn’t sincerely congratulate you,” revealing the reason he didn’t send a congratulatory message to Kang Ji-young.
The rooftop room has reportedly become chaotic due to the competitive dynamics between Kim Dae-ho and Kang Ji-young, who have both declared themselves freelancers.
Following this, Kim Dae-ho reminisced about first seeing Kang Ji-young during the 2011 MBC announcer survival show ‘New Employee’, saying, “At that time, her vocalization wasn’t good,” to which Kang Ji-young responded, “I thought Kim Dae-ho was too wooden and boring to succeed in entertainment,” and “The world has gotten better,” maintaining their competitive banter.
Kim Dae-ho and Kang Ji-young will also reveal episodes from their time as announcers that they have not shared on air until now.
From an anecdote about Kang Ji-young reading the entire newspaper every day due to a single remark from anchor Son Seok-hee during her time at JTBC, to Kim Dae-ho’s massive broadcasting accident that led him to apologize at a 90-degree angle while going around MBC with his seniors and even being summoned by the director, all will be disclosed without reservation.
‘Problematic Men in the Rooftop Room’ will air on the 15th at 8:30 PM.
