In tvN’s ‘That Guy is a Black Dragon’, Moon Ga-young opened the ‘Secret Room’, the embodiment of Choi Hyun-wook’s fandom universe.

In the third episode of the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama ‘That Guy is a Black Dragon’ (directed by Lee Soo-hyun / written by Kim Soo-yeon / produced by Studio N / planned by Studio Dragon), which aired on the 24th, Ban Joo-yeon (played by Choi Hyun-wook) was seen unknowingly being drawn to Baek Soo-jung (played by Moon Ga-young), who fully understands him, stirring excitement.

‘That Guy is a Black Dragon’ recorded an average of 4.6% and a peak of 5.4% among households in the metropolitan area, and an average of 4.5% and a peak of 5.4% nationwide, ranking first in viewership ratings across all channels during the same time slot, including cable and general programming channels. As the renewal project to boost sales at Yongseong Department Store kicked off, Soo-jung and Joo-yeon showcased a fantastic teamwork that was in perfect sync. They went on-site to investigate Yongseong Department Store and encountered a customer who was complaining about the store's operations. The customer, whom they thought was a troublesome patron, turned out to be the vocalist (played by Vincent) of Joo-yeon’s favorite hard rock band, and Joo-yeon, who had to maintain her position as the head of the department, could not reveal her fan feelings, causing her to fidget and create a humorous situation. However, Soo-jung, realizing this, stepped in to take a photo with the favorite and even got an autograph on a sunglasses case for Joo-yeon, creating a warm smile.

This became an opportunity for Soo-jung and Joo-yeon to grow closer. Watching Joo-yeon happily looking at the autograph and photo of her favorite, Soo-jung said, “I think it’s a precious thing to be able to passionately love something. So please enjoy it as much as you want. I don’t think it’s a problem that the head of the department enjoys a hobby, regardless of what others might think.” Joo-yeon felt a subtle emotion for the first time at Soo-jung’s words, which acknowledged and supported her tastes that she thought she had to hide. Joo-yeon replied, “Let’s enjoy it a bit more as it is. In front of you,” raising the excitement to its peak. Later, Joo-yeon revealed her true feelings by saying, “Just take it. It was pretty,” regarding the expensive designer dress that Soo-jung had tried to return.

An incident occurred that caused a rift between the two. Joo-yeon’s cherished pink capsule toy was unexpectedly found in the office. Panicking at the thought that it might be her item, Joo-yeon immediately headed home and was relieved to find out that the capsule toy was not hers. However, the owner of the capsule toy became a hot topic in the office, and when Soo-jung and the staff whispered about whether someone with a child was in the office, Joo-yeon felt hurt alone. During this process, Joo-yeon’s trauma was revealed, adding to the sadness. When Joo-yeon insisted on going to an animation performance as a child, her parents had a car accident on the way. Consequently, her grandmother Jeong Hyo-seon (played by Ban Hyo-jung) expressed resentment towards Joo-yeon, saying, “My son was killed by you. Because of this useless thing.” Feeling betrayed by Soo-jung, whom she thought understood her completely, Joo-yeon abruptly demanded the return of the designer dress she had gifted, leaving Soo-jung flustered.

At the end of the broadcast, the tension rose as Soo-jung entered Joo-yeon’s secret room. While installing a newly purchased Psyche light, Joo-yeon found that the outlet was broken and, to avoid her identity being discovered, she thoroughly investigated and selected a hardware store to request repairs. It was perfect until she called the repairman while disguising her voice as her grandfather’s, but it turned out to be the store owned by Soo-jung’s father, Baek Won-seok (played by Ko Chang-seok), and on top of that, Soo-jung went to Joo-yeon’s house to substitute for Won-seok, who had another business trip. Hiding in the parking lot and communicating with Soo-jung via text message, Joo-yeon was shocked to see Soo-jung’s face on the CCTV. At the same time, Soo-jung discovered the signature of Joo-yeon’s favorite rock band vocalist, which she had received on behalf of Joo-yeon, realizing that the client was Joo-yeon, raising the tension. The scene of Soo-jung stepping into Joo-yeon’s utopia, which was only accessible to Joo-yeon, and Joo-yeon running to stop her was captured in the ending, heightening curiosity about future developments.

Meanwhile, Kim Shin-won (played by Kwak Si-yang) and Seo Ha-jin (played by Lim Se-mi) marked the beginning of their romance after a strong attraction during their first meeting as a boss and customer at a bar. While advising Ha-jin on photos to post for the store’s promotion, Shin-won’s hand brushed against Ha-jin’s, and at that moment, Ha-jin boldly asked, “Do you want to sleep with me?” to which Shin-won responded with a kiss, exploding the excitement. This sparked interest in how their fiery romance would unfold in the future.

tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama ‘That Guy is a Black Dragon’ is an office romance about ‘Department Head Killer’ team leader Baek Soo-jung, who suffers from a first love that has become a dark history, and ‘Third Generation Conglomerate’ department head Ban Joo-yeon, who lives hiding her fandom persona of a black dragon. The fourth episode will air on the 25th at 8:50 PM.
