Announcer Kim Dae-ho announced his resignation from MBC.
In the episode of MBC’s ‘I Live Alone’ aired on the 31st, the housewarming of ‘Dae-ho’s second store’ was depicted.
On this day, Gi-an 84 suggested reading fortune cards as a housewarming gift. After seeing the fortune cards Kim Dae-ho flipped, Gi-an 84 said, “You’re leaving. If you look at it as a career fortune, it’s an outing. It seems like you’re going to another company. Whether you want it or not, you’re leaving in April,” predicting Kim Dae-ho’s declaration of becoming a freelancer.
When Kim Dae-ho flipped another fortune card, Gi-an 84 read, “You will drink a lot in August this year. Interpreting it as a career fortune, it’s a new company you meet, but you won’t be able to adapt there.”
Then Kim Dae-ho drew attention by saying, “You really have a good fortune. It’s not a declaration yet, but I told the company that I’m resigning.” He continued, “I joined in 2011, so I’ve been at the same company for 14 years. I take pride in having worked hard at the company. Although work has become busier and tougher, I’m over 40 now. Whether it works out or not, I felt that if I don’t make a change now, I won’t be able to.”
Kim Dae-ho said, “There are various reasons for my resignation. I’ve been thinking about ‘how can I live a different life,’ and thankfully, that opportunity has come to me. It may not be the best timing in my life, but I felt it was the last moment to tighten the reins of my life. I’m sure it will be a fun moment, and I made the decision.”
Kim Dae-ho mentioned, “While working as an MBC announcer, I lived with a sense of obligation. During my leave of absence, the company waited for me, and my colleagues took care of me. I thought I was repaying what I had received. However, after covering the Paris Olympics, I felt I had done everything I could at the company. That made me feel at ease.”
He added, “Honestly, my age is also a factor, and I thought I wanted to grab the reins one more time. If I don’t let go of the steering wheel, I feel like I’ll just keep going like driving an electric car. I like manual driving, and I wanted to shift my gears myself.”
Hearing this, Jeon Hyun-moo empathized, saying, “What resonates with me is that when I was at KBS, I left everything except ‘Gayo Stage.’ There was nothing more to do. I wanted to upgrade to the next level, but there were limitations. I think I’ve done almost all the broadcasting I could do. I understand how you feel.”
Kim Dae-ho expressed, “(The Rainbow members) have been watching my life until now. I’m very grateful for that. Sometimes they teased my life, and sometimes they enjoyed it with me. It was so nice to have someone who enjoyed my life by my side,” and he shed tears.
However, Kim Dae-ho honestly conveyed his feelings about his future after resignation, saying, “I’m anxious. Now that I’m out…” He also revealed that he is currently in the process of resigning.
Meanwhile, Kim Dae-ho joined MBC as a public recruitment announcer in 2011 through ‘Our Night - New Employee.’ He later gained prominence in entertainment and joined ‘I Live Alone’ as a Rainbow member in November 2023, appearing in shows like ‘Save Me! Homes,’ ‘It’s a Relief to Rest,’ and ‘The Leader’s Side Dish.’ He also won the Best Show Variety Award at the ‘2024 MBC Entertainment Awards’ broadcast on the 28th.
