The group aespa has won three awards at 'ASEA 2025'.
On the 28th, aespa won 'ARTIST OF THE YEAR' and 'SONG OF THE YEAR' at 'ASEA 2025' held at K Arena Yokohama in Yokohama, Japan, along with the Platinum award, making it a total of three awards.
Additionally, aespa captivated the audience with powerful performances of their 2024 hit songs 'Supernova', 'Armageddon', and 'Whiplash', showcasing their overwhelming charm.
In particular, Karina caught attention when she couldn't hold back her laughter after mistakenly calling the team's name during her acceptance speech for the Platinum award.
Holding the microphone, Karina said, "I am so grateful to receive such a meaningful award, and I want to thank my (official fan club name). I will work harder this year to show you even more wonderful works and a more developed version of ourselves," and added, "the future of aespa."
Surprised and laughing, Karina was unable to continue her acceptance speech, and Winter and Ningning stepped in to conclude by saying, "We hope you continue to love aespa."
Earlier on the 27th, Karina posted a photo on her social media wearing a black jumper with the number 2 written in red, which sparked a political color controversy. There were suspicions that Karina was sending a message supporting a specific political party candidate ahead of the presidential election.
In relation to this, Karina stated on the fan communication platform Bubble on the 28th, "I had no such intention at all, but as misunderstandings continued to grow and my (aespa fandom name) were worried, I thought I should speak directly about it," and added, "I will be more careful and pay more attention in the future."
