Actor Yoo Tae-oh's father passed away on the 18th, and he will fly to Germany with his wife, Nikki Lee.
Yoo Tae-oh's agency, Beatnik, stated on the same day, "Yoo Tae-oh's father passed away on the 18th due to an illness. Yoo Tae-oh and his wife, Nikki Lee, are scheduled to depart for Germany tomorrow."
As a result, he will not be attending the '2024 MBC Broadcast Entertainment Awards' scheduled for the 29th.
Yoo Tae-oh was born to parents who met as Korean miners and nurses in Germany. He made his debut in the 2009 film 'Actresses' and began to gain attention with the film 'Leto,' which was invited to the competition section of the 71st Cannes Film Festival in 2018. He has since built his filmography with appearances in dramas such as 'Arthdal Chronicles,' 'Money Game,' and 'Health Teacher Ahn Eun-young.' He married photographer Nikki Lee, who is 11 years older than him, in 2006.
This year, he gained attention by being nominated for Best Actor at the British Academy Film Awards, becoming the first Korean actor to achieve this through the film 'Past Lives.'
