'Waiting for Kyung-do' has confirmed the casting of actor Park Seo-joon, signaling the return of the "Romantic Comedy King."

The new JTBC drama 'Waiting for Kyung-do' (written by Yoo Young-ah, directed by Lim Hyun-wook) is a romantic comedy about Lee Kyung-do and Seo Ji-woo, who, after dating twice in their twenties, reunite as the reporter who reported on their affair scandal and the wife of the scandal's protagonist, experiencing a bittersweet and genuine romance.

This drama is drawing attention as Park Seo-joon's return to JTBC, following the 'Itaewon Class' phenomenon that earned him the title of "Romantic Comedy King."

In the drama, Park Seo-joon plays Lee Kyung-do, a reporter in the entertainment department at Dongwoon Ilbo. Lee Kyung-do is an ordinary office worker with a relatable personality. He unexpectedly encounters his ex-girlfriend Seo Ji-woo, with whom he had a passionate relationship, due to the affair scandal involving her husband, his first love. Viewers are looking forward to Park Seo-joon's acting transformation as he navigates the chaotic daily life of Lee Kyung-do, faced with unexpected challenges.

'Waiting for Kyung-do' depicts the tumultuous and repetitive love story of a man who unexpectedly reunites with his first love, whom he met in a theater club at the age of twenty, after they had a passionate romance and broke up. Even after years have passed, their current story, filled with bittersweet and humorous moments, unfolds alongside flashbacks of their youthful romance, promising deep empathy and immersion for the audience.

Director Lim Hyun-wook, known for 'King the Land' and 'The Person Who Resembles You,' collaborates with writer Yoo Young-ah, who has penned films like 'Your Wedding' and dramas such as 'Thirty, Nine' and 'Sacred Divorce.'
