Actress Park Bo-young expressed her condolences regarding the Jeju Air passenger plane tragedy.
On the 31st, Park Bo-young opened up through the fan communication platform Bubble, saying, "I’m a bit late in reaching out. I’ve been busy, but after hearing the news of the plane accident, my heart felt heavy, making it difficult to casually check in and share my daily life."
She continued, "Every time I watch the news, it’s only heartbreaking stories, so I’ve been cautious. The year 2024 has been filled with painfully sad and difficult events, and I think it will be remembered as a particularly cold winter. It’s a tough year-end in many ways, but let’s spend each day doing what we can, mourning in our own ways."
Park Bo-young added, "I feel like I’ve only been sharing heavy words. A new year will begin tomorrow, so I wish you all a happy new year, and let’s do well in 2025. Stay healthy, eat well, and sleep well. I’ll come to check in soon. Please wait a little longer. I’m always grateful and always thinking of you."
According to the fire authorities, on the 29th at 9:03 AM, a Jeju Air passenger plane with 181 people on board, flying from Bangkok to Muan, encountered an accident during its landing process at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do. There were 175 passengers and 6 crew members on board, with 175 passengers and 4 crew members reported dead, and 2 survivors (crew members).
Flight 7C2216 of Jeju Air attempted to land on the runway of Muan Airport without its landing gear deployed, resulting in a collision with the outer wall, causing most of the aircraft to be engulfed in flames.
As a result, the government has declared a mourning period until January 4 of next year. Consequently, many events in the entertainment industry have been canceled or postponed.
