Below is the Q&A regarding MEOVV's new digital single 'BURNING UP'.

Q. You are back after about 5 months since your first EP 'MY EYES OPEN VVIDE' in May. How do you feel about your comeback?

Su-in: Many people loved our first EP. Since we received such great love, we practiced really hard and took on many new challenges to come back quickly, so I think fans will like this album as well, and I am looking forward to the upcoming 'BURNING UP' activities.

Anna: I’m really happy about our comeback after 5 months! I’m also excited to show another charm of MEOVV with this song.

Narin: My feelings about this comeback are hotter and more earnest than ever. After finishing our last activities, we took 5 months to reorganize ourselves in every aspect and reaffirm the team's purpose and will. I want to convey our sincerity to fans and the public through this 'BURNING UP', which we prepared while talking, crying, and laughing together as five members. I’m really happy and excited to be able to stand on stage again with good music, performance, and strengthened teamwork.

Q. In the meantime, you celebrated your 1st anniversary since debut, and with junior groups debuting, you have become seniors. How has MEOVV changed from a year ago to now?

Su-in: Each of us has become more responsible for our roles and thinks about how we can positively influence ourselves and the team!

Anna: I think we have gained a bit more composure on stage. Understanding each other better is also a big change!

Ella: MEOVV a year ago was definitely more nervous and inexperienced. But now, we have become a bit more familiar with activities like music broadcasts and filming, and I feel like we have a better grasp of things. Of course, there is still so much to learn!

Q. If you had to describe the title track 'BURNING UP' in one word? What was your impression when you first heard the song?

Gawon: It’s the embodiment of burning energy. All the songs on the first EP were heard when we were trainees, but this song was the first one I encountered after debut. Listening to it while already on the path as MEOVV, I felt a much stronger conviction about this song. As soon as we heard it, all the members were captivated and said, 'We must do this song for our next activity.'

Anna: Above all, it’s the hottest song! I was very impressed from the first time I heard it, and it captures MEOVV's energy perfectly! I hope that those who hear it for the first time feel the heat of this moment.

Narin: If I had to express it in one word, it would be 'explosion'. It feels like all the passion and emotions burst out at once, and it’s that hot and intense. From the first time I heard it, I felt relieved that 'BURNING UP' is a completely new feeling compared to our previous songs, and I was curious about what kind of reactions we would get if MEOVV presented a performance we had never done before with this song. I had a strong expectation that we could show a new side, and I was determined to really burn this time. There were tough moments over the past year, and I poured all those emotions into this song. I hope many people can feel that passion as we prepared it with great sincerity.

Q. What are the highlights of the title track 'BURNING UP' and the music video?

Su-in: I would say the low notes at the start of the chorus are a highlight of 'BURNING UP'! In the music video, you can see MEOVV igniting flames wherever they go, and eventually, a huge rain cools down our 'hotness', so I hope you enjoy that process. And you can also look forward to the performance!

Gawon: The explosive energy contained in the song and the parts where the members' personalities harmonize are the highlights. There are fun elements where MEOVV is so hot that the surroundings heat up and catch fire, and to cool that heat, appliances and sprinklers appear, which I think makes for a delightful viewing point.

Ella: The highlight of the music video is definitely the scene where we dance in the rain! It gives a refreshing feeling and makes the video much more special.

Q. Since debut, you have been noted for your unique performances. Having gone through various stages such as music broadcasts, festivals, events, and award ceremonies, your performance skills must have improved. As your experience grows, what aspects do you focus on more?

Gawon: We try to show as many different charms and new sides as possible every time we perform. Even if we are doing the same song, we want to convey freshness by changing gestures or emphasizing different points. In the past, I had a strong desire to do it perfectly, but now I think more about delivering a performance that conveys our sincerity. I’m trying to express the flow of emotions naturally on stage.

Anna: In the past, I focused solely on the performance itself, but now I’m trying to clearly distinguish between the parts where I put in strength and where I let it go. I want to continue showing performances that keep the audience engaged!

Narin: While practicing, I always tend to focus on the choreography or formations, but through various stages, I’ve come to understand the importance of expression more. I now think more about how to show the emotions I feel in the moment and everything I’ve practiced through my expressions on stage. I want to create a performance that conveys emotions.

Q. Each song has a distinct point choreography, and MEOVV's signature dance break part seems to add strength to the performance. What points does 'BURNING UP' have?

Su-in: This song has a total of three dance breaks, and the strong energy and crazy tension of MEOVV during those moments are the highlights. The step performance during the chorus is also a fun point; it’s so exciting even while dancing. I hope our fans will dance along in their own styles!

Gawon: Among all MEOVV performances so far, 'BURNING UP' is the most glamorous, and personally, I like it the most. This choreography also has a dance break, and the choreography using handkerchiefs is an impactful point. The overall performance is very three-dimensional, and the rhythm of the judge club genre blends in naturally, making it really attractive.

Narin: It starts off really intense. To express unstoppable energy, there are many movements where we constantly move our feet, turn our necks, and spread our arms. When I first practiced, my whole body hurt. It’s that explosive energy, yet it has a fresh and lively feeling. This choreography especially has the dance break and point choreography continuously flowing, so I think it would be good to focus on that unending energy while watching the stage.

Q. Through your activity songs like 'MEOW', 'TOXIC', 'BODY', 'HANDS UP', and 'DROP TOP', you have shown various colors. Which of these do you think is closest to MEOVV's identity?

Narin: I don’t think one song can completely define MEOVV. All the songs show different sides of us, and I feel that all those aspects are MEOVV. However, our debut song 'MEOW', which shouts our name from the start, clearly contains our unique charm and musical identity, so I think it can be considered the most special and symbolic song.

Anna: I think it's 'HANDS UP'! We always put our heart into it, and looking back, it was a time when we worked really hard and always enjoyed being on stage.

Ella: I also think 'MEOW' is the song that best fits MEOVV's identity. It has a slightly funky charm. However, we plan to show various charms of MEOVV through different songs in the future.

Q. Then, in what way can the new song 'BURNING UP' showcase MEOVV's new charm?

Anna: We will show a strong yet sophisticated atmosphere! You will meet a more mature MEOVV.

Narin: This time, I wanted to show a rougher and freer MEOVV. While we focused on delivering a polished performance and stage until now, with 'BURNING UP', I want to express the passion we truly feel rather than a perfectly refined appearance. I think 'BURNING UP' is a song that, even if it’s imperfect, has honest emotions and hot energy that are really attractive.

Ella: If we showed a somewhat chic side from debut until now, this 'BURNING UP' has many more fun and lively elements, so I think we can show our diverse colors!

Q. Is there a special episode or memorable moment during the comeback preparation process?

Su-in: There was a scene in the music video where we danced and played in a waterfall-like rain, and it was really fun. I wanted to go to a water park and a valley this summer, but I think I was able to satisfy that desire through the music video shoot, so it’s a memorable and great experience!

Narin: The music video shooting days are memorable. We shot for three consecutive days, and it felt like we were playing a game. On the first day, we had to dance with salt and wind, on the second day with water, and on the third day with even more water and fire. Moments when we danced while talking about how salty the salt was with the members, moments when we screamed and jumped every time we got splashed with water, and moments when we first showed the choreography we practiced thousands of times to the staff all became precious memories!

Q. Not only in music but also in fashion, you have emerged as a distinctive icon and are becoming a role model for the 'Alpha Generation'. Do you actively share your opinions on styling?

Gawon: I have a personal passion for fashion. So I spend a lot of time with the visual team and often discuss things. I actively share my opinions during fittings, and I often wear casual clothes during stages or schedules. I try to maintain a sense of unity while highlighting each member's individuality.

Su-in: During fittings, we give each other feedback, and when any of us has something we want to wear from our casual clothes as stage outfits, we bring it along! The visual team always asks us what style we want to wear, so we find pretty clothes while aligning our opinions.

Ella: We also participate a lot in styling! We always share our opinions and prepare outfits while adjusting them to suit us.

Q. This time, Gawon and Narin participated in the lyrics writing. What mindset or feelings did you have while participating in the lyrics writing? And if you have a 'killing part' that you think is special?

Gawon: I think I was more passionate than ever during this lyrics writing. Throughout the preparation process, my passion was burning like the title, and that feeling naturally flowed into the lyrics. If I had to pick a killing part, it would be the part where we all chant, 'We gon let that fire burn until the end'. I think it captures MEOVV's energy, where intensity and earnestness coexist.

Anna: I also think the part 'We gon let that fire burn until the end' is a killing part. It has power, so I think it’s a killing part!

Narin: I tried to write it straightforwardly and honestly, just like the title 'BURNING UP'. I think I wrote the lyrics while thinking about the hot energy continuously. The killing part I think of is my rap part. The lyrics starting with 'Ya, don’t compare' have a provocative yet confident feeling, which I like. It feels like me when I spit out the lyrics so honestly that it’s almost aggressive. 'Ya, don’t compare' is my favorite part.

Q. You are known for consistently participating in lyrics writing. Do you gain musical ideas from hobbies in your daily life, such as reading?

Gawon: Of course. Since I spent a long time as a trainee, I had more time in the practice room than glamorous experiences. So I couldn’t help but draw inspiration from everyday little things. I felt delicate emotions or special experiences that I couldn’t experience directly through books or movies, and I have various hobbies like visiting exhibitions, collecting LPs, and taking photos, which provide many moments to gain ideas.

Narin: I get a lot of ideas from everyday life. I believe every moment can be an inspiration. Reading is also a hobby that gives me great inspiration. There are many scenes in books that resemble life, and there are many sentences that express subtle emotions delicately, which stay in my mind for a long time. I think those things that remain in my heart become a part of me and later become a part of the lyrics.

Q. What kind of team does MEOVV think it is? What kind of descriptors do you think you have gained over the past year?

Su-in: Cats that devour the stage! Cats that are sincere on stage! And cats that love and enjoy music!

Gawon: I think MEOVV is a team that performs well, and I believe we have earned that descriptor through various stages over the past year.

Anna: I think MEOVV is a team that has grown together while respecting each other. Since we have consistently created our own colors over the past year, I think the descriptor 'confident team' suits us.

Narin: A team that constantly changes and challenges! Thank you for loving our unique voices and intense performances over the past year. There are many descriptors related to cats, and cats are always iconic beings. So I feel that we need to show even more dimensional charm. Every time I hear 'MEOVV is more MEOVV' as we go through various stages, I feel really proud. I want to continue to show new colors and grow into a team that doesn’t need descriptors with our own music.

Ella: MEOVV really feels like a 'one team'. We always discuss together and try to decide in the best direction for the team.

Q. Are there any concepts or genres that MEOVV would like to challenge together in the future?

Su-in: MEOVV wants to challenge all genres of music!

Gawon: I listen to a variety of music, so there are many genres I want to try. These days, I’ve been listening to a lot of rock, and I especially want to challenge psychedelic rock or alternative rock. I also really like jazz, so I think it would be fun to do a comfortable healing song with jazz elements, which I believe our fans would enjoy as well. I want to try full EDM too. Honestly, I want to try everything! I believe we can do it all!

Narin: I want to challenge experimental songs and concepts. We have already tried various genres, but I want to show new sounds that make people say, “Was there such a genre?” or “What genre is this?” I like meditation music, so I want to try that kind of music too, and I want to try all the genres we haven’t tried yet,
