Park Jin-young, the head of JYP Entertainment, has been appointed as the chair of the Presidential Committee on Cultural Exchange.

On the 9th, the Presidential Office announced that President Lee Jae-myung appointed Park Jin-young, the Chief Creative Officer and representative producer of JYP Entertainment, and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Choi Hwi-young, as co-chairs of the Cultural Exchange Committee.

Afterward, Park Jin-young expressed on his social media, "Taking on government work is a very burdensome and concerning matter for someone in the entertainment industry, and I thought a lot about it. However, I believe that K-pop is facing a very special opportunity right now, and I felt I had to seize this opportunity."

He continued, "When I went to the U.S. in 2003 without any plans to promote our singers to American record companies, when the Wonder Girls became the first Korean group to enter the Billboard 'Hot 100' chart in 2009, and even at this moment, my dream remains the same: for K-pop to be loved worldwide."

He added, "I will organize the aspects that I have thought should have institutional support while working on the ground, so that effective support can be provided, and I will work hard to ensure that junior artists can gain better opportunities. I will do my best to help K-pop take another leap forward, not just to promote our culture, but to create a space for people around the world to understand and interact with each other."

Meanwhile, JYP Entertainment, led by Park Jin-young, is home to artists such as TWICE, Stray Kids, DAY6, ITZY, NMIXX, and KICKFLIP.
