Singer Choi Yena mentioned her collaboration with Jin from the group BTS.
On the afternoon of the 29th, a showcase for the release of Choi Yena's fourth mini-album 'Blooming Wings' was held at Blue Square in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The venue was filled with reporters eager to see Choi Yena. The event was hosted by broadcaster Jaejae.
Choi Yena participated in the featuring of the track 'Loser' from Jin's second mini-album 'Ego', released on May 16. This collaboration led to Choi Yena performing live at Jin's fan concert held at Goyang Sports Complex on the 28th of last month.
Choi Yena expressed her feelings about being part of Jin's music, saying, "I could feel that my hard work as a solo artist was reaching Jin sunbaenim and the people involved. I was happy that my sincerity seemed to have reached them."
She continued, "Among the genres I've worked on, there was also rock, and I think that aspect caught Jin sunbaenim's attention. It was an honor just to be featured, but it was amazing and thrilling to be able to perform on stage as well."
In her new album, Choi Yena sang 'You Just Have to Be You' with Mi Roo. Regarding this, Choi Yena utilized Jaejae's connections to invite Mi Roo. Jaejae shared, "Yena asked me if I knew Mi Roo sunbaenim. Although our relationship wasn't deep, I directly DM'd Mi Roo sunbaenim to help them collaborate."
He added, "Seeing the result, I feel very proud to have been the bridge between the two."
'Blooming Wings' is an album filled with love and growth narratives that showcase the most authentic side of Choi Yena. It reinterprets the feelings of first love, pure as angel wings, and the moment of first heartbreak experienced in a rainy alley, all through Choi Yena's unique sensibility.
The title track 'I Hate Being Called Nice' features splendid strings and instruments that unfold like summer fireworks. Choi Yena participated in the lyrics, encapsulating her pure desire to be just a nice and good person to her loved one, the pain after a breakup, and all the emotions experienced in love in the phrase "I hate being called nice."
This new album will be released on various music streaming sites at 6 PM on the same day.
