In the third season of ‘Old Relationship Pursuit’, Lee Gyu-han and Solbi were mutually selected in the first impression voting.
On the 28th, the broadcast of ‘Old Relationship Pursuit’ (hereafter ‘Old Relationship Pursuit’) on KBS Joy·KBS2·GTV depicted the first meeting of the eight cast members of the third season, including Song Byeong-cheol, Lee Gyu-han, Park Kwang-jae, Lee Kyun, Jang So-yeon, Hwang Bo, Solbi, and Hong Ja. They began a journey to rekindle feelings from their long-standing connections through self-introductions.
The most attention-grabbing moment was the reappearance of Park Kwang-jae from the second season of ‘Old Relationship Pursuit’. He stated, “If it was painful, it was an experience; if it was good, it was a memory. Since I had an experience in the second season, I want to create good memories this time,” explaining his reason for returning in the third season.
He also expressed his determination, saying, “I have never done a melodrama in a drama or movie. I want to shoot a melodrama that I haven’t been able to do here.” There is keen interest in whether he can become the protagonist of a romance film in this third season.
Lee Gyu-han attracted attention with his sincere self-introduction. He confessed, “Looking back on my acting life in my 40s, I realized I have no friends. I had no one to share my true feelings with,” and added, “I had a sense of inferiority. At some point, my colleagues looked like competitors to me.” Solbi expressed her affection for Lee Gyu-han, saying, “His trembling voice came across as genuine.”
Hong Ja revealed an unexpected side, saying, “I don’t like exercising, but I’m good at CrossFit, golf, and tennis,” and showcased her quirky charm by stating, “I’m afraid of water, but I recently got my boat license.” Solbi expressed confidence, saying, “I’ve never had a failed attempt at dating. I succeeded in love when I set my mind to it,” and piqued curiosity by mentioning, “There’s someone I wish would approach me.”
Song Byeong-cheol mentioned, “I didn’t know how to start a date. I wanted to revive my dating instincts,” and revealed that he quit smoking five years ago. He also caught attention by describing his ideal type as someone who doesn’t drink or smoke and speaks beautifully. Jang So-yeon expressed her interest in Song Byeong-cheol, saying, “He looks healthy both physically and mentally,” and surprised everyone by introducing herself in five languages: Yanbian dialect, English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.
The reunion of Hwang Bo and Lee Kyun was dramatic. The two first met in 2003 on KBS’s ‘Mountain Lodge Meeting - War of Roses’, and Lee Kyun honestly confessed, “I quite liked her when I was younger.” Hwang Bo recalled, “I remember Lee Kyun being very shy; was it because he liked me? It made me think seriously about it,” hinting at the potential development of their long-standing relationship.
After the self-introductions, the first impression voting took place. In this season, only couples who felt a connection could go on a one-on-one late-night drive date, and Lee Gyu-han and Solbi caught attention by choosing each other.
Solbi said, “Hearing his self-introduction, he seemed like a new person. I became curious about what he would be like when it’s just the two of us,” while Lee Gyu-han explained his choice, saying, “He has always made me happy, and I think it would be even more enjoyable to be together.”
In the preview released after the broadcast, Lee Gyu-han and Solbi’s late-night drive date and their journey of connection were featured. Notably, the first date of the connection journey will be determined by the female participants’ choices, which could influence the love lines of the third season.
