Comedian Song Eun-yi confessed to experiencing burnout in the past.
On the 30th, Song Eun-yi appeared as a guest on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’.
On that day, Yoo Jae-suk said, “CEOs say they break their time down to the second. In reality, Song Eun-yi is also very busy.” Song Eun-yi replied, “If I could be rich, I would want to be rich in time. If I had time, I could meet friends and chat, but that time is gradually decreasing,” she lamented.
Song Eun-yi mentioned that she has dozens of KakaoTalk chat rooms for work communication. She explained, “There are many departments. I have to communicate between all these departments and there are projects to manage.”
Song Eun-yi reflected, “I realized later that I think I experienced burnout. About 3-4 years ago, I had to respond quickly, so I always kept my phone close. One day, after finishing a meeting in Gangnam and crossing the World Cup Bridge, the sky was so beautiful, but I wasn’t happy. I felt sad. At that moment, my KakaoTalk notification went off. I was so frustrated that I thought, ‘Should I throw this phone into the Han River?’”
She continued, “But having such thoughts is really sad. I wondered what I was doing to enjoy wealth and fame.”
Hearing this, Yoo Jae-suk empathized, “I am also grateful to have many tasks, but one day I thought about it and realized there are too many decisions to make. It’s really hard. From one perspective, people might say, ‘How happy is that?’ but not everything in life comes to me as I want it to.”
Song Eun-yi said, “When I first experienced burnout, I was really taken aback. I was angry, sad, and frustrated. I think I asked a lot of questions like when I first started working at the company. It was as if someone was asking me. I think it helped me to view myself objectively.”
