A post revealing the character of contestant A from Mnet's new audition program 'Boys Planet' has surfaced, hinting at potential controversy.
On the 17th, an online community saw a post exposing the character of trainee A, who is set to appear on 'Boys Planet'.
The author of the post stated, "I thought it was necessary to inform the public about trainee A's flawed past and character, who is already receiving great love as a representative idol trainee of K-group, to minimize the damage to the soon-to-be-aired program."
They continued, "I am writing this with the hope that the birth of a better K-pop idol group will allow other trainees participating in the program to receive fair opportunities, and that their dreams will not be in vain or trampled upon, leading to a more beautiful growth of K-pop culture in South Korea."
The author, who identified A as a trainee from domestic B Entertainment, described him as "the king of B Entertainment" and accused him of engaging in personal attacks.
Ultimately, due to A's actions, some trainees could not endure and voluntarily withdrew, incurring penalties.
The author also claimed that A was favored by the company and, recognizing this, looked down on several company staff members. As this situation persisted, the author revealed that they received psychiatric treatment from August to November of last year, providing evidence to support their claims.
In relation to this, the 'Boys Planet' team stated that they are aware of the issue and are currently investigating internally.
Set to premiere on the afternoons of the 17th and 18th, 'Boys Planet' will debut under the title 'K-Pop World Scale Debut Project'. The show depicts boys starting from two different planets, K Planet and C Planet, coming together to journey towards the sun. The concept involves trainees primarily from K Planet, focusing on Korean, and C Planet, focusing on the Chinese-speaking region, competing to dream of forming a single debut group.
