The 'storytelling powerhouse' NCT Dream is making a comeback with a new album themed around time travel.
NCT Dream (Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Haechan, Chenle) held a press conference for their 5th studio album 'Go Back To The Future' on the 14th at 11 AM at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
On this day, Mark expressed his thoughts on the comeback, saying, "Please watch NCT Dream as we work hard for this album," while Chenle added, "NCT Dream has made a comeback with this album. We ask for your interest and love."
'Go Back To The Future' is an album that spectacularly depicts the journey of the curious oddballs of NCT Dream, who embark on a time travel adventure to find the most brilliant version of themselves, traversing the past, present, and future.
Mark introduced the new album, saying, "It's an album themed around time travel," and explained, "The seven quirky members of NCT Dream discover a time machine, which is a hoverboard. The album contains the story of going on a time travel journey to find the most brilliant version of myself."
What is the reason for choosing 'time travel' as the theme?
Mark explained, "I thought there might not be a team with a storyline as delicious as Dream's. As NCT Dream approaches its 10th year, I thought there would be so much to say if we made time travel the theme. I believe it's a perfect concept that can encompass both our past and what we will show in the future."
'Go Back To The Future' includes a total of 9 tracks, featuring the double title songs 'BTTF (Back To The Future)' and 'Chiller.'
Chenle explained the reason for the double title, saying, "It seems to have happened naturally. We didn't initially plan to have a double title. The candidates for the title songs were 'BTTF' and 'Chiller,' and since we liked both, we decided to go with a double title. Fortunately, there is a storyline that connects them, making it a perfect double title."
Jeno introduced the title track 'BTTF (Back To The Future),' saying, "'BTTF' is an abbreviation of 'Back To The Future' and is a song that well represents the core concept of the album. It's a song with a very intense performance." In response, Renjun added, "It contains our confidence about shining now and in the future. The lyrics 'I'm the future' express our aspirations and are the key message of this album."
Chenle introduced the double title track 'Chiller,' saying, "'Chiller' is a song that continues the storyline from 'BTTF.' It contains the message of enjoying the most brilliant version of myself found in 'BTTF.' I think it has a lot of cheerful and witty expressions that suit NCT Dream well."
With their 9th anniversary approaching next month, when asked for their thoughts, Jisung replied, "I'm very grateful for the 9 years we've spent with our fans and members. I feel proud that we can hold a concert at Gocheok Sky Dome next month for our 9th anniversary."
Haechan added, "Even though we're approaching our 9th anniversary, we will show a passionate and fresh appearance as if we've just debuted 9 days ago. This year, we have album activities and a tour ahead. I also think there will be something fun at the end of the year. We will have a fulfilling year, like a well-filled soy sauce crab."
Meanwhile, 'Go Back To The Future' will be released at 6 PM on the same day.
