If Jessi makes her comeback, it will be about 9 months since the fan assault incident in September of last year.

According to police, on the early morning of September 29 last year, in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, a minor fan approached Jessi to request a photo and was assaulted by a man in Jessi's entourage. Jessi attempted to stop the assault but left the scene afterward, and the police, who were dispatched following the victim's report, found Jessi and the rest of her group nearby and asked about the assailant's whereabouts, to which they reportedly replied they did not know.

As the controversy surrounding the incident continued, Jessi apologized via SNS, stating, "I was very surprised by the sudden situation at that time and could not pay careful attention to that fan. Regardless of the circumstances, I feel very sorry that my fan suffered such an unexpected harm, and I feel a moral responsibility."

Subsequently, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul decided not to pursue charges against Jessi for threats and concealing or aiding the perpetrator, citing a lack of evidence that Jessi was involved in the assault or made threats, and that there was no indication she helped the perpetrator escape.
