As the entertainment industry comes to a halt due to the tragic accident involving a Jeju Air passenger plane at Muan Airport, singer JK Kim Dong-wook posted that "it is not right to impose sadness."
On the 1st, JK Kim Dong-wook wrote on his social media, "No matter the reason, it is absolutely not right to impose sadness," adding, "Just because I didn't post a photo on social media doesn't mean I'm not sad, and not writing a single post doesn't mean I'm not mourning."
He continued, "The new year has begun, and we all have to live another year with joy and sadness alongside our loved ones, with smiles and tears," and urged, "Let's make this year one where we can judge what is right and wrong with reason, and further, make it a year that benefits the world!"
He added, "I am also writing songs with that mindset, so let's live with the thought that starting with myself, I can create a better world."
On the morning of the 29th, at around 9:03 AM, a Jeju Air passenger plane from Bangkok, Thailand, attempted to land at Muan International Airport but collided with the runway's outer wall, resulting in a fire and the tragic death of 179 people.
In response, the government declared Muan, Jeollanam-do, a special disaster area and designated a national mourning period for seven days until January 4th.
