The 'awkward first meeting' grew into a genuine friendship. This is the story of actors Song Hye-kyo and Suzy, who are currently considered the hottest celebrity friends in the entertainment industry.

The two first connected through the new Netflix series 'Dah Irujiljini' by writer Kim Eun-sook.

Although Suzy and Kim Woo-bin are the leads, Song Hye-kyo made her first special appearance since her debut, leading to a special meeting that naturally deepened their bond. As Kim Eun-sook has enjoyed great success with 'Descendants of the Sun' and 'The Glory', Song Hye-kyo actively supported the project.

In the series, Song Hye-kyo appears as 'Jiniya', who controls the rain. She is the ex-girlfriend of Jini Iblis (played by Kim Woo-bin) and confronts the emotionless human Gi Gayoung (played by Suzy). With a blue dress, smoky makeup, and flowing long hair, she made a stunning impression despite her brief appearance.

When Gi Gayoung (played by Suzy) recognizes her and says, “Song Hye-kyo?”, Song Hye-kyo coolly responds, “Isn’t it a famous face? I picked the face I liked the most from Netflix,” which elicited laughter. The two then engaged in a playful rivalry, adding to the fun of the series, and their 'one-scene chemistry' left a strong impression.

In fact, the friendship between the two garnered intense interest from fans even before the release of the series. They verified their meetings on each other's social media, publicly shared affectionate messages, and were frequently spotted together.

In a vlog released last year, Suzy made a surprise appearance and even treated Song Hye-kyo to a birthday meal. Recently, Song Hye-kyo celebrated Suzy's birthday, sharing a photo with actress Ahn Eun-jin, which sparked more buzz.

Suzy recently shared behind-the-scenes details about this special connection during a Q&A about 'Dah Irujiljini'.

She candidly said, “At the time of filming, I wasn’t close to my senior, so I was really nervous. I had to act while being cautious as Jini’s ex-girlfriend.”

Suzy expressed, “It was difficult, but at the same time, it was an honor,” adding, “Afterward, we naturally became close, and I was personally very happy.”

In particular, she mentioned, “After filming, every time it rained, I would joke, ‘Is unnie in a bad mood?’ and my senior really liked that.”

‘Dah Irujiljini’ continues to receive a hot response even in its second week of release. According to Netflix's Tudum Top 10 website, the series recorded 8 million views (the number of viewing hours divided by the running time of the work) from the 6th to the 12th, ranking first among global non-English series. It made the top 10 list in 50 countries worldwide, and topped the charts in 10 countries including Hong Kong, Peru, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and the Dominican Republic.
