YG PLUS (CEO Choi Seong-jun) announced on the 16th that its global music distribution platform Mixtape has officially launched the membership plan 'Label+' exclusively for indie labels.
The newly introduced 'Label+' plan is optimized for business-type indie labels that operate multiple artists and projects, adopting a non-subscription revenue-based model that applies a certain percentage of distribution revenue as a commission without an initial membership fee. This minimizes the cost burden on labels while providing a practical business-oriented pricing plan.
Previously, Mixtape operated mainly with Basic and Pro plans for individual musicians. With the introduction of the 'Label+' plan, business customers such as indie labels can now utilize the Mixtape platform. Additionally, unlimited album releases and modifications are possible, and it provides essential features for music distribution across global music platforms and social platforms in over 190 countries, including YouTube Content ID and ISRC/UPC issuance.
As a result, Mixtape has completed a distribution product portfolio that encompasses everything from solo musicians to label operators with multiple artists. It has established itself as a comprehensive distribution platform tailored to the growth stages and operational forms of artists. The new pricing plan can be applied for starting June 16 through the official Mixtape website (mixtape.so).
Seo Hee, leader of the platform data team at YG PLUS, stated, “The Label+ plan is not just a simple business plan, but a partner model that practically supports the creative activities of indie labels,” adding, “It is designed to lower the barriers to entry for distribution and maximize business flexibility, allowing for easy and convenient distribution without release restrictions, which is its biggest appeal.”
Meanwhile, Mixtape plans to operate the 'Accelerating Program Season 2' in the second half of this year, going beyond simple music distribution to discover and support potential musicians. This program is expected to become a key nurturing project that helps musicians grow in the music content market.
