On the afternoon of the 16th, a showcase was held to celebrate the release of Ailet's new mini album "Night (bmob)" at Yes24 Live Hall located in Gwangjang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The venue was filled with reporters eager to see Ailet.
During the photo time, the members of Ailet shared their thoughts on their comeback. First, Yoona said, “I’m proud that we’ve already released three albums. I’m looking forward to the fans' reactions,” while Wonhee expressed, “I’m excited to show a new side of ourselves. You’ll be able to see us grow even more.” Minju added, “There are many new aspects of Ailet that I want to show quickly.”
Moka expressed her gratitude to the fans who have waited, saying, “I want to tell them thank you. I want to share this with them as soon as possible. We’ve worked hard and I’m confident in this album.” Iroha also shared her excitement for their first comeback of the year.
"Night" is an album that goes beyond the emotions of "me" from the past two albums and begins a genuine interaction with "you." Ailet's honest and cheerful approach, moving with the motto "Be clear about the ambiguous, and when in doubt, follow my heart," stands out.
Through the title track "Borrowed Cat (Do the Dance)," Ailet expresses the complicated feelings of a nervous first date, boldly suggesting, “Let’s dance together” because they don’t want it to end like this.
The addictive hook and beat, along with unique lyrics like "Doomchit Meow," maximize Ailet's emotional appeal while hinting at the birth of another hit song. The romantic and dreamy string theme, sampled from the OST "Elegant Escape" of the famous Japanese anime "The Five Star Stories," captivates listeners.
After releasing the music video for "Borrowed Cat," Ailet showcased a live performance. Their lively outfits perfectly matched the bouncy song. The delicate yet agile point choreography reminiscent of cat movements stood out.
Regarding the song behind the stage, Yoona said, “I felt a fresh shock like when we debuted with 'Magnetic.' I think Ailet's color has become richer.” Moka described the song as “so good it gives me chills,” and Wonhee also predicted, “I think Ailet's music carries honesty. You’ll feel our bold charm through this song.”
This new song has drawn attention as it was directly produced by HYBE's Bang Si-hyuk. In this regard, Minju mentioned, “Producer Bang Si-hyuk said the choreography is beautiful. He hoped we captured the cat vibe well.”
The new album includes a total of five tracks, including the title track "Borrowed Cat," "Little Monster," "Jellyous," "Oops!," and "Night Picnic." The trendy and diverse sounds throughout the album further highlight Ailet's musical color.
In their new release, Ailet transforms into magical girls, conveying infinite positive energy. For them, magic means believing in one’s potential. They encourage listeners to awaken the magic that lies dormant within and confront negative inner emotions head-on. The phrase “Remember, the magic inside you” is expected to resonate deeply with everyone.
Yoona expressed confidence in the song, saying, “We’ve woven a story that anyone of any age can experience at least once. I believe we’ve maintained Ailet’s distinct identity within that.” Wonhee also stated, “Like our infinite potential to become anything, we will continue to face various challenges head-on.”
Finally, Ailet expressed, “We want to describe this album as ‘growth’ and will show an upgraded version of ourselves with the confidence that we can do anything.”
