Singer G-Dragon's side has spoken out regarding dating rumors with actress Lee Joo-yeon, who is a former member of the group After School.
On the 6th, his agency Galaxy Corporation stated, "We clarify that the dating rumors between G-Dragon and Lee Joo-yeon, which have been continuously raised recently, are not true."
Earlier, in April, speculation began circulating in online communities that G-Dragon and Lee Joo-yeon might be seeing each other again. The starting point for this speculation was Lee Joo-yeon's social media. She posted a selfie, and the background was similar to G-Dragon's home decor, which led to the rumors. The post has since been deleted.
In the released photo, Lee Joo-yeon is seen sitting on a sofa with what appears to be her pet cat, gazing at the camera. Speculation arose that the interior visible behind her resembled G-Dragon's home. Similarities were noted in the sofa, frames, and other elements of the home decor. Particularly, the cat in the photo was wearing a pink scarf similar to one that G-Dragon's pet cat had worn, which fueled the speculation.
G-Dragon and Lee Joo-yeon have been embroiled in dating rumors four times since 2017. However, their responses to these rumors have been passive. When the first dating rumor was reported, both sides' agencies stated they were "close colleagues," but in 2019, Lee Joo-yeon posted a video with G-Dragon and later deleted it, reigniting the dating rumors.
Subsequently, photos of the two seemingly visiting the same locations, such as paragliding and restaurants, were released, drawing attention. There were even rumors of a trip to Jeju Island, but neither side provided any significant comments.
In the past, G-Dragon has been involved in dating rumors with several celebrities, starting with Japanese model Mizuhara Kiko in August 2010, followed by Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, Japanese actress Komatsu Nana, BLACKPINK's Jennie, and TWICE's Sana.
