Choi Seung-hyun, actor and singer from the group Big Bang, made an appearance at an official event.
On the morning of the 1st (Korean time), the Netflix global fan event 'Tudum 2025' was held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, USA. It was live-streamed worldwide through Netflix.
The event was attended by actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Choi Seung-hyun, Park Sung-hoon, and Kang Ae-sim, who are part of the Netflix original series 'Squid Game 2'.
The 'Squid Game' team took the stage with the MC's words, "Squid Game has taken over the world. Aren't you curious about what will happen next?"
Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun, who were the first to appear, briefly introduced themselves and said, "I brought a few friends from Korea," calling Choi Seung-hyun, Park Sung-hoon, and Kang Ae-sim to the stage.
Park Sung-hoon greeted the audience, saying, "So many people have gathered here. It feels like a scene from the giant Squid Game," while Kang Ae-sim also asked, "Is there anyone here who is a fan of 'Squid Game'?" encouraging a response from the audience.
Choi Seung-hyun then followed with his greeting. He said, "What's up, Netflix fans?" and added, "You might be surprised to see me here, but I couldn't miss such a wonderful event." He then mentioned, "I want to give you a little sneak peek of the new season of Squid Game that will be released soon."
This is the first time Choi Seung-hyun has appeared at an official event since leaving the team due to a drug scandal in 2017 and disappearing from the entertainment industry. He has shown a somewhat proactive approach by directly showing his face at the event, where he had only been seen through his works.
In January of this year, Choi Seung-hyun expressed his willingness to return to activities through a media interview regarding his participation in 'Squid Game 2'.
Choi Seung-hyun is reportedly considering not only acting but also returning to music. In response to fans' questions about his return to music on his social media last November, he replied, "2025." According to industry insiders, he has been steadily working on music and is preparing for an album.
Meanwhile, Lee Jung-jae mentioned, "Squid Game will surprise the world one last time. I know you are all eagerly waiting," fueling expectations for Season 3.
Additionally, the official trailer for Season 3 was revealed at the event, eliciting cheers from the audience. The work will be released on the 27th.
