Haerin from the group NewJeans expressed her gratitude to the fans.
On the 15th, Haerin left a letter through the SNS account that the members are independently managing.
Haerin said, “It may seem like a very raw expression right now, but I had no choice but to do it this way to capture my surprise, emotion, affection, and gratitude. I believe Bunnies (NewJeans' fan club) can relate, but there are times when it’s hard to express this large and vague feeling. I’m in exactly that state right now, so I expressed it without any hesitation at this moment.”
She continued, “Thank you for quietly supporting us during this difficult time for any reason. It’s truly a series of surprises. Thanks to Bunnies, I think I can have a pleasant day. I’m really grateful,” revealing her appreciation for the fans.
NewJeans held an emergency press conference last November, declaring the termination of their exclusive contract with Ador and began their independent activities. They also announced their new group name, 'NJZ'.
In response, Ador filed a request for a provisional injunction to preserve the status of the agency and to prohibit the signing of advertising contracts in court. The court made a ruling on the matter last March. The court determined that the members of NewJeans should not engage in entertainment activities on their own or through a third party without prior approval or consent from Ador. The members submitted an objection on the same day, but it was also dismissed. The members are currently in the process of appealing.
On the 23rd of last month, the members took the stage at ComplexCon held at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong and announced, “We have decided to temporarily suspend all activities to respect the court's decision. We know better than anyone that this choice will not be easy, but this is what protects us.”
NewJeans had been operating an SNS account named after NJZ, but following the court's ruling, they deleted the name and set a new account name by combining the members' initials.
