AI entertainment tech company Galaxy Corporation successfully transmitted G-Dragon's music and voice into space in collaboration with its artist G-Dragon and KAIST. This project is expected to accelerate the innovation of AI entertainment tech, aiming to permanently preserve human culture in space and attempt communication with other civilizations, going beyond mere musical endeavors.
The 'G-Dragon Space Music Transmission Project' held at the KAIST Satellite Center on the 9th was made even more special by its connection to NASA's SETI project. The SETI project previously transmitted the music of The Beatles into space, and G-Dragon has been recorded as the first Korean artist in the SETI project.
At the event, under the theme of 'emotional signals that expand the inner universe of humans to the outer universe', G-Dragon's iris image and the music 'Home Sweet Home' were combined using AI and projected and transmitted via a 13M space antenna. Shortly after the performance, around 8:27 PM, G-Dragon transmitted a greeting saying, "Hello, this is G-Dragon" (approximately 100Kbps), and two minutes later, the track 'Home Sweet Home' (approximately 3Mbps) was sent into space. The satellite research institute plans to transmit the track once a day in the future.
Regarding sending his music into space, G-Dragon expressed, "I am very excited about the expectation that it might reach somewhere," and added, "The transmitted 'Home Sweet Home' is special because it is a song I worked on with the members of Big Bang, meaning I am sending my home with the group name Big Bang. I am honored to send my most cherished song into space thanks to feasible technology."
Choi Yong-ho, Chief Happiness Officer (CHO) of Galaxy Corporation, stated, "G-Dragon's voice and music have begun their journey towards space. This project holds significant meaning beyond mere music transmission, as it conveys humanity's dreams and imagination to space, marking a pioneering step in introducing human culture to the universe and opening a new chapter in music history." He clearly expressed the company's commitment to leading the future of AI entertainment tech.
Meanwhile, Galaxy Corporation has been building a collaborative relationship with KAIST since last year, leading the future AI entertainment tech industry through the fusion of entertainment and technology. Recently, they held a private meeting with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, where they were praised as the 'Pioneers of Imagination'.
