Yoo Jae-hwan, a composer and singer who was accused of fraud regarding composition fees, shared his recent situation after the decision not to prosecute.
In January, the Seoul Gangseo Police Station decided not to prosecute Yoo Jae-hwan due to insufficient evidence regarding the fraud allegations. Previously, he was accused of taking approximately 55 million won from 23 people under the pretext of composition fees.
On the 28th, Yoo Jae-hwan communicated his stance through his new social media account. He stated, "As a result, the group lawsuit has been cleared of charges. I apologize for causing social controversy. It was very distressing to see unfounded statements circulating as if they were facts in the articles."
He continued, "It has been five months since my mother passed away. Honestly, the news of my mother's death made it impossible for me to take a single step outside my home without my father. Because of that panic disorder, I was extremely afraid to go out into the world."
Yoo Jae-hwan emphasized that he remembers those he believes he owes money to and will refund them all. He said, "It will take some time, but I sincerely ask for your patience and understanding."
Finally, Yoo Jae-hwan revealed the reason he couldn't contact many people before the investigation concluded: "My words could be seen as threats, and contacting people before the investigation was over was deemed risky, so I couldn't do it."
Yoo Jae-hwan announced his engagement to his girlfriend last April, but shortly after, he faced allegations of sexual assault and claims of fraud regarding composition fees, which put him in the spotlight.
