Koo Yi-tae shared his thoughts on the character he played in 'Our School Uniform Days'.
On the afternoon of the 10th, a screening and press conference for the film 'Our School Uniform Days' was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul. Director Choi Ching-shun, producer Dang Jae-yang, and actors Jin Yeon-bi and Koo Yi-tae attended.
Koo Yi-tae said, "One of the differences between Rooker, the character I play, and me is that he is smart and a genius. He was born in a conservative era, and while those around him talk about success, Rooker seeks good things and success in his own way."
Last year, he visited the Busan International Film Festival with 'Our School Uniform Diary' and recalled, "I was nervous when I said I was going to the Busan Film Festival, but the audience gave such enthusiastic responses that I was able to relax and enjoy it."
Koo Yi-tae also mentioned, "The reason I act is to provide audiences with emotion and empathy through films. I was deeply moved by the relationship between the child and the child's mother in this script. My parents didn't force me to study, but the school I attended had a lot of academic stress. I struggled academically and was in the lower ranks, which made me question my self-worth. I liked the message in this film that I can create my own self-worth."
'Our School Uniform Days' is a coming-of-age romance about a student in the night class of a prestigious girls' high school, where grades, family, and unrequited love don't go as planned. The student experiences a new world through a secret uniform exchange with her perfect desk partner, Min, from the day class. It will be released on the 11th.
