Rookie actor Kim Min successfully completed her debut work, the Disney Plus original series ‘Fine: The Village People’, with delicate emotional acting.
In ‘Fine: The Village People’, which ended on the 13th, Kim Min played the role of Seon-ja, a worker at the Mokpo Luck Cafe. Through this work, Kim Min, who made her debut as an actress, made a strong impression by drawing turning points in the episode development with her complex emotional lines.
In the last broadcast, Seon-ja delivered a powerful ending covered in blood in a small room, and in episodes 10 and 11, thanks to Hee-dong (played by Yang Se-jong), she escaped from Jang Madam and finally decided to go to Seoul together, unable to hide her emerging smile. However, her anxious waiting for Hee-dong, who was in danger, heightened expectations for the final ending.
Kim Min successfully built a solid and multi-dimensional narrative for Seon-ja, whose dream was to move to Seoul. From their first meeting to their reunion and her long-desired entry into Seoul, she naturally conveyed a wide range of emotions such as excitement, anxiety, and longing, enhancing the immersion in her character.
Moreover, Kim Min left a strong impression from her first appearance with a short haircut reminiscent of a Hong Kong actress. At the end of the broadcast, she radiated a retro atmosphere in a dress that captured the 1970s mood and a neat bob haircut, fulfilling visual enjoyment with her fashion adaptability to the era.
After successfully finishing her debut work, Kim Min expressed, “They say the first time is always memorable, and I am so overwhelmed and honored to have my first experience with ‘Fine: The Village People’. I was truly happy to portray the charming and lovable Seon-ja. I would like to thank the director, writer Yoon Tae-ho, the staff, and everyone who worked hard for this project.”
She continued, “Thanks to the heartfelt advice from my seniors, I think this first set will be warmly remembered for a long time. I will not forget what I learned here and will strive to be an actor who does not lose her original intention. Lastly, I would like to thank all the viewers who watched the drama, and I hope you fully felt the 1970s sentiment.”
