Disney and Pixar's new release 'Elio' has claimed the throne upon its debut.

According to the integrated ticketing system of the Korean Film Council, 'Elio' attracted 26,114 viewers on its opening day, the 18th, ranking first at the box office.

'Elio' is an emotional adventure story about a lonely boy, Elio, who feels alone on Earth and is suddenly summoned to space, where he meets a special friend. With its unique imagination, relatable story, and timely message, it offers warmth and inspiration hotter than the summer heat in a time when connection is yearned for.

‘How to Train Your Dragon’ (directed by Dean DeBlois) attracted 22,622 viewers on the same day, falling to second place. Its cumulative audience count is 1,050,158.

‘How to Train Your Dragon’ is a live-action adaptation of the animated film of the same name released in 2010, telling the story of a boy named Hiccup (played by Mason Thames) who is not recognized due to his Viking-like appearance and personality, and the legendary dragon Toothless, shrouded in mystery, who changes the world.

In third place is ‘High Five’ (directed by Kang Hyung-cheol), which gathered 22,391 viewers, bringing its cumulative audience count to 1,571,340.

Released on the 30th of last month, ‘High Five’ is a comic action drama about five individuals who accidentally gain different superpowers through organ transplants and their encounters with those who seek their abilities. Actors Lee Jae-in, Ahn Jae-hong, Ra Mi-ran, Kim Hee-won, Oh Jung-se, and Park Jin-young collaborated on this project.

‘Shin Myung’ recorded fourth place, attracting 13,668 viewers, with a cumulative audience of about 630,000.

As of 9 AM that day, the real-time reservation rate leader is ‘28 Years Later’. Following it are ‘F1 The Movie’, ‘Elio’, and ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ in order.
