Kim Tae-ri and Hong Kyung reunited after 'The Cursed' and said, "It was a happy collaboration."
On the afternoon of the 27th, at the press screening of Netflix's first Korean animated film 'Necessary for This Star' held at Lotte Cinema in Kondae, Seoul, Kim Tae-ri said, "I really like Hong Kyung because he is such a great actor. That's why I was even happier to work with him," and smiled.
He continued, "If we had acted together in person, I think I would have been less embarrassed. I could feel every breath in the booth. It was very embarrassing. Whenever we made eye contact, we couldn't help but laugh, so we looked at each other a lot," he shared.
Hong Kyung also responded, "As an actor, I have always learned a lot from my favorite older sister, both then and now. This time, it wasn't just about acting; it was about diving deep into the work and trying to create something together, so I made an effort to keep up," he said.
He added, "There were many times when I was alone in the booth or working together. Sometimes it was tough to hear my own voice in the booth. There were moments of loneliness. During those times, she was a guiding light for me," and shyly laughed, saying, "After seeing the final version, I felt that I could have been much bolder. I didn't think my voice sounded good."
'Necessary for This Star' is a romance set in 2050 Seoul, where astronaut Nan-young dreams of exploring Mars and meets Jay, who has temporarily set aside his dream of being a musician, as they move towards their dreams and love. Kim Tae-ri and Hong Kyung voice the characters.
It will be released worldwide on the 30th.
