Ma Dong-seok's first occult film, 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters', has unveiled its secrets.
On the afternoon of the 21st, at the press screening and media conference for the film 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' held at the Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, Seoul, Ma Dong-seok introduced the film by saying, "It's a dark hero genre film, but each character has their own story. We mixed cheerful humor with the occult within the exorcism worldview."
He expressed satisfaction, saying, "Ida-wit is still young, but he has a lot of experience and is a very good actor. His specialty is that he can catch both curveballs and fastballs. So it was easy to act with him, and our timing was great when throwing humor back and forth." He also praised Seo-hyun, saying, "She did a great job with difficult acting. I'm grateful that she showcased a new face well."
Additionally, he mentioned, "Since it's a genre mixed with many fantasy elements, we worked hard and sweated to shoot the action scenes. I expected explosive and refreshing action because it's a fantasy film, and I think that aspect was well expressed," and he laughed, saying, "We smashed everything with a refreshing feeling."
He continued, "I am grateful for the luck that the 'Outlaws' series has been released every spring and has scored over ten million viewers. I don't know about this film. It's my first attempt at this genre, and I'm curious about how it will be received. I'm more curious about the audience's reactions than for the 'Outlaws' series."
Furthermore, he added, "I'm really curious about what the audience will think about the worldviews we envisioned. We worked hard with the hope that this film would provide some strength in the difficult theater situation and that audiences would return to theaters. I hope many people come to see it in theaters."
'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' is an occult action film where the 'Holy Night' team, consisting of the dark problem solvers Bau (Ma Dong-seok), Sharon (Seo-hyun), and Kim-gun (Ida-wit), eliminate a group of evil that has thrown the city into chaos due to a cult that worships evil.
It will be released on April 30.
