Actor Kang Ha-neul stated, "There are many drawbacks to one-person media, but there is also a lot of positive energy. Personally, I tend to feel empowered."
Kang Ha-neul shared his thoughts on the film's theme of "one-person media" during a press conference after the media screening of the movie "Streaming" (directed by Jo Jang-ho) held at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 17th.
In the film, he plays the role of 'Woo-sang', a crime specialist streamer with the highest number of subscribers. He said, "Personally, there are many social issues surrounding 'one-person media' these days, and while there are many unfortunate cases, I also gain good energy from quality content."
He mentioned, "In fact, I am not the type of actor who immerses himself in acting with blood and bones. While those actors are impressive and amazing, I don't have the capacity to do that. I tend to think about how to convey what is in the script."
When asked if he believes there are positive effects despite the negative aspects of 'one-person media', he replied, "While the drawbacks of one-person media are revealed, I draw strength from the content I enjoy. I tend not to watch issue-based content," adding, "I think it's unfortunate that one-person media causes harm to many people, but there is also energy that comes from positive one-person content, so I don't think it's strictly bad or strictly good."
The movie "Streaming" is a thriller in which 'Woo-sang' (Kang Ha-neul), a crime channel streamer with the highest number of subscribers, discovers clues to an unresolved serial murder case and broadcasts the process of tracking down the culprit in real-time.
It will be released on the 21st.
