Former announcer and CEO Kim So-young revealed that she started her business with her MBC severance pay of 30 million won.
On the 17th, a video titled ‘EP01. Earning hundreds of billions with a severance pay of 30 million｜Kim So-young’ was posted on the YouTube channel ‘Seller-Britty’.
On that day, Kim So-young stated that she started her business with the bookstore ‘Book Development Center’ in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, saying, “It was really tough. However, I didn’t have time to care about others' opinions on doing hard work. I realized how much I love this.”
Kim So-young talked about her business funds, saying, “When I first opened the bookstore, I often heard people say, ‘Her husband must have set it up for her.’ He was more famous than I was. But it wasn’t my husband who set it up; it was with my severance pay. After working at MBC for 5 years, I received about 30 million won as severance.”
She continued, “I didn’t have money to pay the deposit. So, the store went bankrupt several times, and I found a place with a low rent and no deposit. I hastily signed the contract and just painted it as it was without any renovations.”
