Actor Nagi Soo revealed that he has been relying on alcohol after the passing of Mina's mother.
On the 16th, Nagi Soo's recent situation was shared on MBN's cultural program ‘Exclusive World’.
After finishing a play, Nagi Soo returned home and greeted the empty house, saying, “Ms. Mu-sik, I did well in today’s performance,” which caught attention.
He continued, “Mina's mom has gone to heaven. She left us in March last year, so it’s been about a year and six months now,” expressing his longing for his wife.
Nagi Soo remarried singer Mina and Nikita's mother, Ms. Jang Mu-sik, in 2019. Their wedding was also featured on MBN’s ‘Modern Family’. However, their newlywed life did not last long. His wife suddenly passed away in March last year.
Nagi Soo shared, “It’s hard to endure being alone without drinking,” and added, “I had quit drinking with Mina's mom. But after she went to heaven, I couldn’t help but drink every day,” revealing his struggles and evoking sympathy. He also mentioned, “It’s not easy to let go of my wife.”
He recounted, “I went to practice in Daehangno, and around 3 PM, I got a call from the kids saying, ‘Mom has been taken to the emergency room at the university hospital.’ I rushed over, but my wife was already in a state of brain death,” explaining the situation at that time. “Mina found her mom collapsed in the bathroom and took her to the hospital, but she was in cardiac arrest.”
Mina and her husband Ryu Philip are still in contact with Nagi Soo. They video-called him to check on him and urged, “If there’s anything we can help with or do together, please reach out anytime.”
