Singer and songwriter Lee Jae named Aespa and BTS as musicians he wants to collaborate with.
On the morning of the 15th, a press conference for the Netflix movie 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' featuring Lee Jae was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul.
Regarding the popularity of 'Golden', Lee Jae said, "These days, there aren't many melody-centered songs. I also look at the Melon and Billboard charts, and there are many things happening globally. I think it was a song that had a lot of hopeful lyrics, providing healing and was needed by everyone."
He also expressed, "I want to grow as a songwriter," adding, "Since I am a songwriter, I have many songs. The songs that resonate with me the most are the ones I want to sing."
When discussing musicians he wants to collaborate with, he said, "In the K-pop scene, I want to work with Aespa and compose as well. I think it would fit well. BTS is also great. It would be an honor. They are so cool. Since Jungkook sings well, I think it would be fun. There are so many others too."
'K-Pop Demon Hunters' is a story about the K-pop girl group Huntress defeating a boy group made up of evil spirits called Lion Boys and protecting the world with their songs.
It has recorded the highest viewership for Netflix's content, with a cumulative view count of 300 million. The OST 'Golden' sung by Huntress also topped the Billboard Hot 100 for a total of 8 weeks non-consecutively.
Lee Jae is the granddaughter of veteran actor Shin Young-kyun and a former trainee at SM Entertainment. She created and performed the OST 'Golden' for the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.'
