Comedian Lee Jin-ho (39), who was under investigation for illegal gambling, was caught driving under the influence and has been sent to the prosecutors.
On the 15th, the Yangpyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that they had sent him to the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, Yeoju Branch, on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving).
According to the police, Lee Jin-ho is suspected of driving approximately 100 km from Incheon City to Yangseo-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun while intoxicated in the early hours of September 24.
The Incheon Police Agency, after receiving a report, requested cooperation from the Yangpyeong Police Station, which tracked Lee's vehicle route and apprehended him at around 3:23 AM on the same day.
When the police took him to the police station for a voluntary breath test, his blood alcohol concentration was found to be 0.11%, which is the level for license revocation.
However, since Lee Jin-ho requested a blood test, the police collected his blood and requested analysis from the National Forensic Service (NFS).
Subsequently, the NFS informed the police on the 26th of the same month that Lee's blood alcohol concentration at the time of the offense was 0.12%.
Lee Jin-ho admitted to the charges during the police investigation.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that his girlfriend was found dead in an apartment in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, causing shock. It is reported that she had expressed psychological burdens as she was repeatedly mentioned in the media.
Lee Jin-ho confessed to illegal gambling through his SNS last October and is currently under investigation.
