Actor Jin Tae-hyun recently shared his thoughts on the issue of running shirtless, which has been a hot topic.
On the 25th, a video titled “Park Si-eun and Jin Tae-hyun's Running Grand Plan: Let's All Become One Part 1 - Shirtless Running” was released on the YouTube channel of the couple.
Recently, running has become a popular exercise. Amid this trend, there has been a growing number of people running outdoors without shirts, leading to divided opinions and controversy.
Jin Tae-hyun cautiously stated, “My profession is not running. This is a personal opinion from someone who does it as a hobby, so I hope you won’t get angry or leave negative comments just because you think differently.”
He explained, “There are two opinions: one is that ‘shirtless running is okay’ and the other is ‘do you really have to take it off?’ I understand both sides and think they are valid.”
He added, “I have also run shirtless in parks during quiet times. There’s a reason for that. In our country during the monsoon season or in Southeast Asia, functional clothing doesn’t serve its purpose in the summer.”
Park Si-eun chimed in, “I saw Tae-hyun take off his shirt and it was like squeezing out water after soaking it in a pool. I didn’t understand why he said his clothes were always heavy even when wearing a sleeveless shirt, but now I get it. When I run in the summer, I sweat so much that even thin clothes feel heavy. That’s why I thought people run shirtless.”
Jin Tae-hyun shared an anecdote, saying, “While exercising at the sports field, someone asked me to ‘please wear clothes.’ I had never been stopped like that before. A man who was running said he didn’t like it, so I put my shirt back on.”
He continued, “In fact, there’s nothing legally prohibiting shirtless running. Those who run shirtless should make an effort. Always carry about five spare singlets. Make an effort not to run shirtless.”
Park Si-eun also expressed her thoughts, saying, “Since there are so many controversies, I thought about what would be best. I hope the country imposes legal restrictions. If it’s designated by law, those who want to take off their shirts will hold back, and those who don’t want to see it won’t have to say anything.” Jin Tae-hyun emphasized, “I hope they can establish clear rules. It would be great if a law could be made.”
