Actress Son Ye-jin (43) chose the drama ‘Crash Landing on You’ as her life’s work, openly expressing her deep affection for her husband and co-star Hyun Bin (43).
On the 18th, the ‘Actors House’ event featuring Son Ye-jin took place at the Sohyang Theater, Dongseo University in Busan. The Actors House is a representative event program of the Busan International Film Festival, providing an in-depth look at the artistic worlds of contemporary actors.
During this event, Son Ye-jin had a deep communication session with the audience, where a Chinese fan asked in Korean, “I really love the drama ‘Crash Landing on You.’ When were you the happiest during filming? Do you have any memorable special moments?”
Son Ye-jin responded, “There were so many happy moments,” and asked back with a smile, “Why do you think that is?” In this work, she developed a romantic relationship with Hyun Bin, which eventually led to their marriage.

She recalled, “Hearing this question reminds me of when we filmed in Switzerland,” and added, “We filmed the Swiss scenes early on, but we had to shoot until the ending.”
She continued, “I remember the scene at the end where I go paragliding and meet Ri Jeong-hyuk for a hug after a long time. I can’t forget that scenery and the Ri Jeong-hyuk from that time,” stating, “‘Crash Landing on You’ is my life’s work.” She also mentioned, “At that time, filming every day was tough, but now all those moments and scenes are vividly coming back to me.”
When asked by an audience member if Hyun Bin gives her acting advice as a colleague, she replied, “It might be surprising, but we actually don’t talk much about work.”
She said, “We don’t usually show each other our scripts, but when I received the script for this work ‘It’s Unavoidable,’ I did show it to him.”
She added, “Especially my husband doesn’t talk about work, but I think I sometimes ask him to help me with the script. If he jokingly gives me a weird suggestion, I end up getting scolded,” she joked.
Meanwhile, Son Ye-jin visited Busan as the lead actress in the opening film of the 30th Busan International Film Festival, ‘It’s Unavoidable.’ She plays the role of Mi-ri, who stands by her unemployed husband Mansoo (played by Lee Byung-hun), marking her first collaboration with Lee Byung-hun.
The Busan International Film Festival will be held until the 26th at the Busan Cinema Center.
