'Dog President' trainer Kang Hyung-wook is returning to broadcasting after overcoming allegations of abuse.
Channel A officially announced on the 27th that in August, they will present a reality entertainment show titled 'The Time of Dogs and Wolves,' which will explore the underlying causes of problematic behaviors in pets, including the role of their owners.
Aiming to be a new type of pet solution program, 'The Time of Dogs and Wolves' goes beyond simple training to examine the owner's attitude and environment, focusing on a comprehensive review of pet life.
Kang Hyung-wook, a leading pet behavior expert in South Korea, will personally visit the field to closely observe the relationship between pets and their owners, providing practical solutions for better coexistence.
The production team is currently recruiting general participants and their pets through online communities and social media channels.
Previously, Kang Hyung-wook operated a pet training company called Bodum Company. He has significantly influenced the culture and perception of pet ownership in South Korea, particularly raising public awareness about the importance of walking dogs. He rose to stardom through the show 'Dogs Are Incredible' and was also known as 'Dog President.'
However, in May of last year, he was embroiled in allegations of abuse against former employees of Bodum Company. Following this, Kang Hyung-wook and his wife, Susan Elder, refuted various allegations through a clarification video. However, the stance of the former employees was different, and some filed a lawsuit against the couple for violations of the Information and Communications Network Act. As a result, Kang Hyung-wook also stepped down from the KBS2 entertainment show 'Dogs Are Incredible,' in which he was participating. After a lengthy dispute, he was ultimately cleared of all charges and freed from the various allegations.
